On Sunday morning, I called Legacy Garage Door Repair & Supply San Ramon after seeing their 289 five-star reviews. I needed same-day service and was pleased that they were able to send someone out later that day. I asked for the name of the technician who would be coming and was told it would be whomever was available.What was not disclosed upfront is that Legacy subcontracts their work to other garage door companies in the area. The company that actually performed the service was Bay Best Garage Doors, which has significantly worse reviews. We only became aware of this when the technician told us who to make the check out to — at that point, the work was already completed.We felt like we were overpaying when the technician informed us of the costs, but based on the strong Legacy reviews, we authorized the work. Had we known the service was being handled by Bay Best Garage Doors, we would not have proceeded.We feel deceived by the way this was handled and believe the Legacy reviews do not accurately reflect the company performing the work. Future customers should be aware of this lack of transparency before scheduling service.

Spring broke in the morning and I called Legacy. Hours later my garage door works fine again. Oriel is knowledgable, skillful, patient and fast. He replaced the springs and checked other parts and let me know what parts will need my regular attention and answered all my questions.
