Do not purchase a Martin Doo / Midland Door, Period!

My door that's barely a year old is already starting to crack out of the thin frame, and the Acrylic Window material they use get incredibly scratched just from the normal weather. I've never touched my windows besides a simple rinse and dry with a microfiber cloth!

In addition, if you do have an issue expect them to blow you off with little to extended wait times. Their field service rep would never answer his phone, Voicemail Full, and Auto Texting me back "I'll call you right back". This went on for weeks and I just barely got a phone call yesterday that they denied my warranty request.

We had 2 different doors installed and they're a mess and both needed to be fixed by me, the customer, due to both the manufacturer (Midland) and their dealer/installer (Midwest) unwillingness to make it right.
.
First door was incredibly difficult to close on day 1. We told Midwest and they said they will fix it when they are back down to install the second door. We struggled with it for several months.
.
Second door gets installed and we then show them the issue with the first door. At this point the bottom of the door is bent up and heavily damaged over the constant struggle we had closing it over the months (1st pic). They make adjustments but it continues to not work properly and everyone struggles with it.
.
The second door that was installed seemed fine, but when we went to install our opener we found everything was backwards. The door springs and drums were rotating in the wrong direction and the tension cables were being pulled forcibly to the side and grinding when the door was fully opened (2nd pic). I contacted the installer and they said, “it was installed per manufacturer specifications”. They used that as their excuse and basically left it like it was refusing to make it right.
.
I then reached out to the manufacturer, Midland. I desperately tell them that they need to send someone down here to look at this mess. No response. A week later I call Midland and ask if they got my email and they said, “oh yeah, we got it. I’ll forward it and CC you”. Another week goes by and nothing. I then email their CCed copy back asking what was going on and they then replied with the exact same way the installer did by claiming it was installed per specification. That’s it and without even looking at it. No willingness at all to do anything. Seems like both dealer/installer and manufacturer like to just push away their customers and not make anything right.
.
I then came to the realization that I was going to have to fix both of these doors myself. I spent all day turning the springs around on the 2nd door to have the drums rotate in the correct direction (3rd pic). While I was doing this I found several stripped bolts- like someone ran the bolt in with an impact and just kept at it when it was tight until it pulled all the threads out of the wood. I found 2 bolts like this on a very high tension area that holds the springs in place. I also found they used a thin bracket to hold the center spring loaded assembly all in place. This bracket is bending and I could see it moving from the tension of the springs. (4th pic) During the process of fixing this door a sharp piece fell on my head and sliced into my ear.
.
I still have the 1st door to deal with and that's more time and money down the drain.
.
I will never recommend Midland and Midwest. I feel both of these doors are not going to last a reasonable amount of time and both of them are going to be constant problems.
.
Remember the cable angle on drum alignment on the second door? I found while fixing this that it was due to cost cutting by the manufacturer of the door (Midland). Instead of having the drum assembly sit in the correct position they saved a few pennies during manufacturing by having the drum stick out too far from the assembly which gives it the odd angle. I had to manipulate the cable brackets at the bottom of the door to extend out enough to reduce this odd load on the drums and cables. All parts are the thinnest gauge materials and use the fewest parts possible making this whole assembly one of the cheapest units I have ever seen. I installed my first garage door myself when I was a kid at my parents house over 30 years ago. I also raised the ceiling height in my garage at home and modified my door to open flush with the ceiling for my car lifts. I know enough via what I have seen and done with doors for the past 30 years and looking at these Midland doors they are the cheapest cost cutting manufacturing techniques ever seen.

The large door now has a failing cable (last pic). Hmm, who could have predicted that? Had to hire a different company to fix.

I'm on my 4th install set of certain panels, every previous panel that has been installed through twin city garage doors has been dented. I recently got my second panel replaced on my big garage door for a 3rd time, I was assured it was not dented.. it was again dented. Requesting a 4th set of panels. Not happy with the product. One time okay- I get it- stuff happens. 4 times to receive a non-dented product? That's a bit ridiculous. The 4th sets aren't here yet, but my expectations are that they will again arrive dented.

I built my garage starting last August, ordered the garage door in September, and had the garage up and finished in October. We knew we wouldn't be seeing the door until 1/21/22, and although that was a bummer, things being in the manufacturing world what they were is understandable. That date came and went, and upon inquiring, were told there were trucking issues due to weather and the door was done on a trailer. February came and went, once again waiting somewhat less patiently, and I started to ask our lumberyard for more updates every week. After inquiring if we could send someone up to get it as it was done and just on a trailer, or so we were told, the lumberyard was told that wasn't the case and they weren't sure where it was. They have been asking daily for updates in the last half of March, and getting nowhere. This for me is the most unacceptable part of the whole deal. COVID and supply chain excuses aside, either lying, not wanting to go through the work to investigate what's going on, or owning up to mistakes is the lowest of the low business practices. Right now I guess I'll just have to put the Midland name on the OSB so everyone in town that knows I'm still waiting on a garage from knows who's to blame.

Horrible. Cheap. Poor Quality. No customer service!
We had Midland Garage Doors installed on our newly constructed pole barn and all 3 doors rusted immediately. Had we known that the builder was selecting such a POS door from a company who does NOT stand behind their product, we would have selected something else from another company!
It's been over two years. Looks like a trip to small claims court!
