We called a few different services around Guelph, and although they all gave us exacts hourly rates, there was something unconvincing about them all. Until Royal City Garage, Dave didn’t give us a quote, but his confidence in being able to get the job done, the cheapest way possible, was reassuring. We decided to take the chance and trust him, and he did not disappoint. He was in and out, diagnosing the issue and fixing it within 1-2 hours. His price ended up being around the same quotes we received, except some of the others the $150-$200 was their baseline starting point. I called Dave when I needed a garage door repair. I knew immediately that I found my guy. It was obvious that he was knowledgeable and passionate. His repair was quick and perfect. The part I appreciated the most was how thoughtful and respectful he was about explaining the issue and how to fix it. I wish every home repair could be this pleasant.

One of the cables snapped for our garage door so it couldn't close properly. We emailed Dave that evening and he was at our place before 8 am the next morning and fixed it promptly and expertly. He really enjoys what he does and takes pride in his work. He is also very friendly and an interesting conversationalist! Highly recommend if you have any garage door needs.
We’ve been customers of Royal City Garage Doors for years. First for service on our old door and operator and then for a new install and now service for the new door. I say new but the new door is now 14 years old. Only one broken spring along the way over 14 years. Dave Sanford regularly provides great advice over the phone and email on how to maintain or DIY a small issue. He does this to help us avoid a service call! Fantastic service. Most would just come, take your money and move on. Dave works hard to save you money and only comes if necessary. What more could you ask for from a long standing, local, family business.
