We heard great things about this company from community Facebook groups, and had hoped to hire them for a driveway gate install. Unfortunately, we had a staff member named Michelle email us back who was exhaustingly unhelpful. Trying to get information from her was very challenging. As consumers having to spend $5-7k just to automate pre-installed driveway gates, it feels important to have someone representing your company who can thoroughly assess the needs of clients to help them make informed decisions about the money they are spending. Receiving one word, dismissive answers to emails was unhelpful, so ultimately we decided to go with another company for this job. It's unfortunate that this staff member is costing clients, as reviews about the company's gate techs are great.
Having recently relocated to Parksville BC and into our new home. We wanted to reclaim our attached garage which had been converted into a games room by the previous owners. Numerous calls and online checks for the right contractor was a little daunting until I spoke with Michelle at Highstandards overhead doors.After explaining our plans and quite honestly being new to the island I was not familiar with what this work would entail.Michelle put me at ease and explained this type of work was not unusual for her team and she would be able to recommend a good and trusted contractor to do the prework needed. (Shout out to Zach from top shelf construction).After calling several companies, most of which gave me the impression that they really didn’t want to take the time to help or provide options. So needless to say that confident feeling I got when speaking with Michelle guided my decision.Michelle put me in touch with Zach, again very doable work and I ultimately opted to have HighStandards team do the work.The doors we wanted were subsequently ordered. Michelle’s knowledge of door/opener quality also made total sense as this was an upgrade we wanted to do once.As promised our doors arrived and pre work started. Both companies complimented one another’s expectations of work quality and timeline so our garage was not left insecure.There were no surprises and when the install date arrived. Michelle’s team arrived, were personable, took care of our home and were extremely respectful. (They made me laugh, both love what they do and it shows in their work and how they interact with their customers)Two doors were installed within 4 hours and look/work amazing. No issues whatsoever with the pre-work done - obvious both companies understand what’s needed.Like always, I do my research and suggest you do yours. I do not regret engaging this company and would not hesitate to recommend them to family or neighbours.Well done and thank you guys, your name says it all??
Had a very last minute issue that they found some time for me. Darren H was amazing. What a great personality, super friendly and knows his stuff. A great interaction and the work was completed promptly and professionally.
