Recent reviews frequently mention fast scheduling and technicians who explain issues and complete repairs efficiently. Some customers describe delays in receiving written estimates or concerns about diagnostic accuracy and pricing on certain visits. Many long-time reviewers highlight courteous service and successful same-day fixes, while a smaller number report miscommunication around quotes. Overall feedback points to strong responsiveness with occasional consistency gaps in follow-up and pricing clarity.
Tech disassembled the door spring, quoted me twice the price of industry standard, and then refused to put it back together when I said I couldn’t pay that. Pretended to call his manager to change the price or do work on the side. Very shady. Unsure if any of these other reviews are legitimate.
We called Spartan for service on July 17, 2025 for a garage door opener that was not working after a nearby lighting strike. Firstly, the technician mis-diagnosed the problem, then claimed it could not be repaired (The actual problem was a fried board in the opener which I replaced myself for $150 in the end).Next, the technician noticed the torsion spring was broken, making the door hard to open manually. Fine, but he replaced it with the wrong spring, so the door was still far too heavy. We recently had Thomas V. Giel come out, who replaced the rusty old spring that Spartan installed with the two correct springs. The door now supports its weight on the torsion springs much better.Overall, I would just call Thomas V Giel next time. Spartan were unreliable, unknowledgeable and did faulty work.
I had a technician out to look at my door, he was very knowledgeable and professional. Unfortunately, I never actually received the quote. It was to be sent the next day but I never received it, and despite calling and emailing multiple times requesting to get my estimate, a month later and I still have no idea how much they wanted for it.
First of all, I would highly recommend Spartan Garage Door ?????????... I had a problem with my garage door, it felt like the whole thing was going to collapse. I called them up and they fixed the issue in no time. David is really a nice and highlly skilled guy. He was able to take care of my home on short notice, diagnose and fix the issue in no time at all, which has relieved a huge chunk of stress that I was feeling. I appreciate his work!
My double garage door had not been lowered in 20 years. Called Spartan and he came by at the end of his workday to take a look. Dave (?) spent an hour working through his dinner break to get my door operational, replacing parts he had on his truck. He was friendly, professional and obviously knew his stuff. The price he quoted at the end of the job was more than fair.On my experience, I would recommend him highly.Dave Simpson, 40 year resident of Crafton.
