Jim came out to repair my garage door. From the moment I called for the appointment to the moment Jim left the service exceeded my expectations. When I called for the appointment we went over a few troubleshooting ideas to try before scheduling an appointment which I greatly appreciated. Jim contacted me prior to arrival to let me know he was on his way. Jim arrived promptly and started work immediately. He quickly knew the potential issues and started investigating them quickly. He made the necessary repair with supplies he had in the truck so no downtime required for part retrieval. After repairing the issue he inspected and did maintenance on the door. Jim was extremely easy to work with. My garage door is 20+ years old he did leave me with some information for the new options available which was greatly appreciated. No pressure ever in the conversations to do anything outside of why I contacted them. I had used Thompson’s in the past for a broken spring and the service was exceptional that time too. I’d recommend Thompson’s for any garage door needs.
I left a message before they opened today saying that my door was stuck halfway and I could not get it up or downTrying not to express panic, I said that it was not an emergency but I wanted to get on their service list.Emily called me shortly after they opened (7:30AM) and assured me that these things happen in this weather.It was 7 degrees when I called.She assured me that it was very likely fixable and could get someone out within 45 minutes. She said if I sent pictures, they could be sure the parts needed would be on the truck.Emily called back as soon as I sent the pictures and said help would be there within 30 minutes.I would not have expected anyone to come out this quickly in these temperatures.Dustin, the owner, arrived just as Emily told me.Taking a look at the damage, he assured me, like Emily did, that this happens a lot in this weather.Only I didn't think due to driver error.Did I mention that I backed into my own door?He said this happens a lot and we fix them.Less than 20 minutes later, I couldn't believe it.I heard the door functioning again.Dustin had replaced the bent rails, damaged panels and the rollers. He explained other details that I may want to fix later but told me that the door should work fine for a long time even if I do not fix anything else.I told him I was amazed at his speed as well his workmanship. His response, "This is my job. It's what I do. Helping people."In addition to the repair at a great price, the peace of mind they provided is the service that is not listed on their website.Dustin restored the calm I had lost just a couple hours earlier.He could have charged way more.That kind of service is worth it.
