The quoted price for the doors I was interested in were more than 3x the price for the same exact doors from another local competitor. 343% higher, to be more precise. My garage door had a broken spring which kept me from going to work. Called A1 after the first company I called sent a 3rd party contractor that was super shady (no signage on the truck and no company letterhead on the paperwork). I called A1 at 12:55pm and immediately knew I called the right company. A1 provided me with a service call from 2-5pm. I received a text a few minutes later with a bio and picture of the Tech that was assigned. The Tech arrived at 2:05pm in his A1 company van and immediately got to work on diagnosing the problem. About 15 minutes later he provided me with the details and price. It was more than I expected but I got the lifetime warranty. I signed off on the work order and two hours later my garage door was as good as new.Shoutout to my tech Nicholas Beierle, very professional and courteous, great guy. My husband and I added magnetic wood veneers to the front of our garage door for aesthetics. Doing this added extra weight to the door that needed to be accounted for with raising the garage door. We were expecting to have the existing springs tightened to account for the added weight. We requested A1 Garage Door Service to come to our house to tighten the springs. When Greg arrived, he informed us that the springs were extremely underpowered for the size of our door and had already worn out as the previous owner of the home had picked the cheapest possible (uncoated) springs. They were so cheap quality that A1 Garage Door Service does NOT even sell them! The old springs were only 6 years old and already at the end of life. They could've snapped at any moment, which could've hurt someone. Greg replaced them with new, coated, sturdy springs that will last a lifetime. The previous garage company who serviced the previous owners had installed a cheap plastic connection bearing that was already wearing down. Greg replaced it with a sturdy, stainless steel one. He spent 3 hours securing everything and ensuring the springs were functioning perfectly. He even added a metal brace to the door that should've been there to add stability. He explained everything in detail as he went along. He added extra touches to his work such as lubricating every hinge, roller and track, adding additional steel screws and tightening existing screws. Our garage door works so well now and it looks lovely. We are sold! Greg represents the professionalism and conscientious work that you hope to get when hiring for any service. Greg and A1 Garage Door Service have lifelong customers in me and my entire family. Such a fantastic experience. We are so grateful to Greg for everything he did for us! He saved us from a crisis we didn't even realize we had!
Corey was amazing, knows his garage doors and does not up sell. He gave all the options including how long my current door approximately would last. Gauge back at the shop went over everything again, same as what Corey told me and gave me several doors to choose from plus the final price with tax for each. I've always used A1 and will continue into the future. I would give them 10 stars, very professional.
