Pricing is often described as fair with no pressure to oversell. A small number of comments cite inconsistent in-store communication, but most feedback focuses on reliable field service.

Fixed my garage door the same day I called, price was fair. Highly recommend them

DO NOT SHOP HERE — EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE

I purchased a $950 commercial coded lock from this location, and when I needed assistance understanding the installation, I went back to the store for help. Upon entering, my colleague and I greeted the staff with multiple “good mornings,” yet not a single person acknowledged us. There were three gentlemen and a young lady behind the counter, and every one of them ignored us.

I approached the shorter gentleman at the front to ask for help with the lock or, if necessary, to return it. He immediately became agitated that I even spoke to him. He mumbled swear words, walked away, and returned only to tell us he had “better things to do with his time” and that we should read the instructions or come back when the original salesperson was available.

Eventually, he fiddled with the lock and fixed it, but he was rude and dismissive the entire time. When we asked for the manager, he said, “Go ahead, whatever, I don’t care.”

I have spent thousands of dollars at this location over multiple visits, but after this experience, I can confidently say I will never set foot in this store again.

Absolutely unacceptable behavior. STAY AWAY.

My garage door was stuck and myQ app suggested to call Rivett Hardware.

I spoke to Kevin who attended and helped fix the issue. He was very helpful, kind and professional.

It was impromptu call and he was able to attend the same day. After fixing the fault he still went ahead to lubricate the tracks. He reassured me and gave me helpful tips and pointers.

The repair fee/charges was waived and I am extremely grateful!

My experience with this company was fantastic and I will recommend them for all your garage door services.

Sashank Krishnakumar on Rivett Architectural Hardware

My garage door was stuck and unusable, Rivett sent someone right away even though it was end of day on a Friday and got the issue fixed for me. The service and price was excellent would definitely recommend them.

I received a referral for Rivett Architectural Hardware Ltd. by the company that was installing my new front door, Doors R Us. I wanted to replace my garage door at the same time I had to replace the front door as I knew it was my best opportunity to match the styles and finishing of the two doors. Ricardo at Doors R Us quickly put me in contact with Gary at Rivett who guided me through the whole process. No overselling tactics, just friendly and honest advice.

After speaking with Gary about various options, I decided to purchase a custom, insulated, cedar panel garage door manufactured by Richards-Wilcox; a Canadian company that has been in business since 1912 and is well known in the industry for producing some the nicest and most premium garage doors available on the market today. Moving from my old, builder-grade uninsulated garage door to this custom door increased the R value from around R1 to R19. A night and day improvement in both quality of construction and thermal insulation.

As I quickly discovered while shopping for doors, there are very few companies, if any, that specialize in both front entry doors and garage doors. My want was particularly more difficult to fill as I was looking for a fibreglass front door, but a wood panel garage door. So, without the ability to deal with one company for both of my door needs, I had to look at using two separate companies. This concerned me at first as it was important to me that the design and finishing of the two doors match and thought that this would be difficult to accomplish in dealing with more than one company. Gary quickly put my mind at ease by telling me that the companies have been working together for several years on these specific types of joint projects, have a great working relationship and speak daily. This was apparent when I spoke to them both individually. Every step of the door design and installation was carefully coordinated between the two from the custom glass selection to the wood finish, and the stain colour. While Mike and John at Rivett did great work behind the scenes, Gary was my single point of contact throughout.

A bit about the installation. The old garage door was jammed between two HVAC bulkheads. As the new garage door was slightly thicker, it was not an obvious or easy fix to fit it within the tight space. John, the installer, found a perfect (and not obvious) solution to avoid having to cut into the bulkheads while allowing the door to open and close smoothly. It required additional hardware, which Rivett provided at no extra charge. John’s professionalism, experience and pride in his work is simply as good as you’ll ever find in the trades. The final install was very sleek and cleanly done, particularly when compared to the original door installation. Even though I offered to clean up after John, he left the site spotless.

I would highly recommend Rivett Architectural Hardware for any of your garage door needs. You simply will not find better value-for-money, product offerings, customer service or installation expertise anywhere else!
