Reviews highlight attentive guidance through design choices, coordination with vendors, and strong results on complex additions and custom builds. Several homeowners mention clear communication and a smooth process across multiple phases. A minority of feedback notes concerns about post-completion follow-up and timing on certain warranty items. Overall ratings trend positive, especially for craftsmanship and project oversight.

We would not recommend Spectrum Homes in Whitehall PA to build a home. Once final payment was made, we felt they lost interest in our project & did not value us as customers, allowing warranty work to remain unfinished for over 1 year. With Spectrum and its subcontractors giving contradictory reasons for faults we feel their capabilities did not measure up to our project’s custom design including questionable levels of craftsmanship, lack of listening to our concerns, not following agreed upon plans, low attention to detail & little empathy.

Claiming a Total Quality Assurance Program stating they “care beyond the day you move in” to schedule warranty work within 30 days, have a final review within 11 months, & close our file in 12 months. None of these milestones were met for us.

We felt project management attention was lacking on the job site including:
• Installation of the wrong siding. They rectified this.
• Deck steps were missed. We noted & they were added at the last minute.
• A set of stairs was not painted. This was rectified after the owner conceded that it should have been done.
• Laundry plumbing & electrical rough in heights were mispositioned not accounting for appliance risers that were repeatedly mentioned & documented. They refuse to fix.
• Careless and sloppy “finish” work: partially caulked window; holes in shower grout; shower threshold pitched outward allowing water to run onto the bathroom floor; uneven kitchen & bath cabinet doors; poor cuts to outdoor deck; flooring miscuts without cover up; cracks, dings & unevenness to trim work; paint drips throughout & varnish spills left to dry on stairs.

Their disorganization, planning & promises that would change without notice, times of inflexible communication, “forgotten” discussions leading to multiple occasions of us having to provide documentation of contract agreements & email trails, poor warranty work including cost-cutting “fixes” led to our concerns & dissatisfaction with Spectrum Homes.

EDIT: May 2025 - We moved in 2 years ago in March. Every floor in our home is having an issue for several months. We must get our guest bath completely retiled (scheduled for June with an independent contractor) as the grout has come apart (See photos). All LVP flooring and subfloors under carpets creak. Paint on exterior doors is beginning to peel. (See photos). We had to pay for an independent electrician several months ago to spend 3.5 hours to go thru our entire kitchen to figure out why the power was out to all outlets. Loose wires in the kitchen island. This home build is abysmal for a new home only 2 years old.

I highly recommend using Spectrum Homes. We added an in law suite to our home. It turned out so much better than we expected. You can tell by their work that they have very high standards. The addition was over 900 sq ft with one bedroom, full bathroom, walk in closet with washer and dryer, kitchen, pantry, living room, and office. I also renovated the mudroom in the main house and added custom cubbies and a pantry. We worked with Brandon a lot in the beginning with discussing design. It didn’t take long to design the perfect layout for my parents. Brandon is very easy to talk to and answered all of our questions. He also came by many times throughout the project to make sure we were happy with the work. The project manager was Jon and I would hire him again in a heartbeat. He genuinely cared about how we felt and wanted us to love it. He was also very easy to talk to. He answered all of our questions during the whole process and made sure things got done and got done on time. We also felt very comfortable with all of the subs they hired. The siding turned out beautiful and matched the original house perfectly. You couldn’t even tell it was an addition from the outside. Carlos did a great job painting the whole house. The tile in the shower and the backsplash were amazing! Mark built the custom cubbies and pantry shelves, and did an absolute beautiful job. It was a dream come true. The owner, Ken, also came by several times to check out the work and made sure it was being done properly. He also wanted to make sure we were happy. I could name so many more people but that could take awhile. We were just so happy with the finished product. We received a binder with all of the design picks and contractors used which will be so helpful. I also appreciate the one year warranty.
Thank you again for building our addition and making my parents dream become reality.
My dog also loved everyone that came to the house. He became buddies with a lot of them. Haha.

Leslie Kingston on Spectrum Homes and Remodeling

Spectrum Homes was the perfect choice to build our custom retirement home. The process was detailed and professional. As the owners we were involved in each segment of the construction and the help we received with choosing every part of the interior and exterior from appliances to brick color was spot on! We love showing off our new home and we tell everyone who built it.

We had a complex project that included remodeling most of the interior of our house (Master bath & bedroom, 1/2 bath, kitchen, living room, office, dining room, laundry room, stairs, etc). This included moving some load bearing walls and re-routing many utilities.

Everything was done to our specifications; the Spectrum design team and their vendors were excellent. Even though some issues (typical items in a project this large) were encountered during the project, they managed them well and delivered on time.

I think Craig, Bart, and Vicky all give really sound, practical advice. They helped us reach our goals and make smart selections along the way.

We've been enjoying the remodeled spaces for about 8 months. So far they have exceeded our expectations and service, after the project completion has been very good.

We had an incredible experience with the entire Spectrum team a few years back when we had them build our family home. We had a custom on lot build with challenging circumstances that had us interview multiple builders and Spectrum was the clear choice. The entire process turned a business engagement into a lifelong friendship with the company.
