My wife and I contractd to build our new home with Norfolk Homes. The process was fairly smooth with no real issues. Lisa, Laura and Ralph our on-site building supervisor were all a pleasure to work with. The quality of our new home is very good. I would recommend Norfolk Homes to friends, family and clients.
We built our first Norfolk home in 2022 and had a truly overall positive experience from start to finish, which, if you’ve ever built a house, you know is not always the case.I cannot say enough good things about Laura in the design center. She is AMAZING at what she does and went above and beyond (and then above and beyond that!) to help make the home of our dreams a reality. The same can be said for our project manager Ralph; he kept our site spotless and offered a lot of helpful guidance along the way to us as first-time home builders.We recently purchased another Norfolk home that had been built about 10 years ago, and while we are updating it to reflect our personal style, structurally and functionally (where we've learned it truly counts), the house is solid. I think it says a lot that nothing we’re changing is because something failed or didn’t hold up.It's one thing to have a good experience during construction, but it's another to see how a home holds up a decade later, and that’s what has really stood out to us. We didn’t plan on choosing Norfolk twice, but I'm really glad we did!

We moved into our new Norfolk home 4 months ago. In general, we are pleased with our Norfolk experience. Our impression is that the staff care about the customer and work hard to accommodate requests for updates and changes. However, they appear to be spread pretty thin and can't always get to everyone and everything in a timely fashion. Norfolk is a semi-custom builder, which means there's more opportunity for customizing than with many subdivision builders but less than with a fully custom home build. We did feel that the choices for some items were too limited and the cost of some upgrades was excessive in comparison to what it might cost with an outside vendor. Also, as others have mentioned, the final finishes are not as polished as one would expect for the price point. On the positive side, we had a good experience with Norfolk on financing the build and with DART bank on obtaining a mortgage when we were ready to close. We have also had positive experiences with ProHome, the third party warranty vendor. Although ProHome's process is a bit tedious, it has worked for us. All in all, we would recommend Norfolk to others looking to build a new home.
At the end of 2023 my husband and I set out to find our forever home. With the market how it was, we felt our best option was to build in an area we loved. With plenty of builders in the area, I set out to find the best quality and neighborhood for the price. I remember the first time I drove through the Norfolk neighborhood, I was absolutely in love. Other builders just leveled the area and figured out how to cram as many houses in. Norfolk sculpted their neighborhood around nature, leaving beauty and space.I absolutely enjoyed working with Laura in the design center! Norfolk's reasonably priced upgrade options allowed us to get the upgrades we wanted now, without breaking the bank.Brad their construction manager is an absolute gem, he works hard to make sure your house is high quality and looks not just complete, but polished.During the build process Lisa kept us updated every 1-2 weeks and answered all our questions promptly. This was a critical part of helping us get the timing of financing, selling and moving with minimal stress.With Norfolk Homes I felt like I was treated as if I was Family, which in a post covid era... That's extremely rare! I highly recommend Norfolk homes to anyone looking to build!
