Y'all want southern hospitality down to earth straight forward people. I 2000% recommend South Georgia Homes. My sells person was Kourtney and she made sure we got everything we asked for in the price range. I'm truly grateful for these people.. They answer all of my questions even when they might have been stupid questions ( I'm good at that if I might say so) And they moved faster than Todd Padgett we waited for almost 6 mths with him before I gave up on him.. From the time we stepped on the lot til the trailer was delivered was about 3 to 4 mths.. The day they brought the trailer Todd Padgett call and asked if we was ready for our trailer I was like I'm already in my trailer I'm sorry you lost this sell.. Y'all go see Kourtney she will fix you right up...

Maybe if your building in one of the Columbia County neighborhoods the builder uses a higher standard for their build but unfortunately in our Walker Creek neighborhood we've dealt with numerous issues. Every new build home will have items that need adjusted or repaired but it's the response from the builder or its team that makes or breaks the relationship and trust you have in if your builder did a good build.

Some items we've dealt with to name a few but by far not all:
Walls not plumb or square. There are numerous, I don't think a level or square was used at all in our build!
Lumber that is chipped, in door frames it looks like the lumber was salvaged from a job site where someone threw pieces that weren't usable.
Large hole in flooring. Now I thought this would be fixed prior to carpet going down, nope! Learned it was still there after stepping in it after move in. It was repaired after a few days, but who just carpets over a hole that is 3in wide and 4in in length.
Electrical!! Biggest nightmare, after alot of back and forth and them saying nothing was wrong on their side I was told to get Ga Power involved, Thank God I did. The main service was arcing in the wall! The contracted electrician for SGH then attempted a repair by cutting out the "bad" section of main service. Still had issues. After months of having to wait again for Ga Power to do a study on my homes Power coming from their side it was determined not Ga Power issue. So then my meter had to be moved to "fix" the area of main service line. Maybe now it's okay...maybe

In all the biggest issue is the builders response and lack of professional and care. Still waiting for some items to be properly fixed and if I was not knowledgeable would not know they were an issue. If they would fix things the right way the first time it would be more cost efficient and minimize ongoing issues.

My advice on any new build. Get a pre drywall inspection. Pay for an independent electrical inspection and HVAC inspection. We did have to get an HVAC inspection done also prior to move in as there was major issues there and we wanted to be sure they were properly fixed. Also get your home inspection prior to the walk through.

Almost a year ago we built our forever home with South Georgia Custom Homes. I do not have enough wonderful things to say about the professionalism and commitment to service we received. Darren was extremely prompt and attentive during the building process, and has continued to be so in the year following as minor expected issues have arose. It is evident they take great pride in the work they do. I’m so thankful for our home and appreciate the commitment from these professionals to the work they provided.

South Georgia Custom Homes built our house. I am absolutely pleased with the quality and the craftsmanship that they put into our stunning house. From interior design to exterior landscaping, their attention to detail still amazes me one year after our closing. While many new home builders are more interested in getting a home built then they are in the quality of their work, that has NOT been our experience with South Georgia Custom Homes. They were attentive and responsive to us throughout our build, pushing hard to ensure we closed timely while not compromising the quality of their work. They took the time to answer our countless questions as we moved through the process. As with all new home builds there were superficial punch list warranty items that needed to be resolved. South Georgia Custom Homes promptly sent out quality sub-contractors who resolved any issues. In fact, one subcontractor advised us of a small broken exterior vent situated high on the side of our house that none of us would have seen, including our builder. Even though our warranty period had just passed, South Georgia Custom Homes got right on top of the issue to resolve it for us. So often, we deal with companies who do not care about their customers, but South Georgia Custom Homes absolutely does. They didn't just build our house.... they built us our HOME and it is without a doubt, PERFECT, of incredible quality and superior design. I highly recommend South Georgia Custom Homes to any future buyer. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Amazing work South Georgia Custom Homes! Thank you so much!

We had our home built by South Georgia in the Whispering Pines community two years ago. During the build, Amy and her team addressed any issues that came up (one being missing framing for a door during the framing portion of the home). During our walk through I was dissatisfied with the judges panel in our dining room. After not getting the answers I was looking for from the construction team I reached out to Amy who then came over to address the issue.

At our one year mark we submitted a warranty list of things that needed to be addressed, or at least looked at. They quickly came out and set up the contractors needed to do repairs.

Just this year we decided to sell our home. During the inspection something came up that the buyers were concerned about. We had addressed it while the home was under warranty so I reached back out to Amy. Not only was she willing to provide paperwork, she sent out another contractor to take a look and write a report for the new buyers.

Long story short, South Georgia bent over backwards to help us, even after we were out of our warranty period. They were phenomenal with communication even when they may have had a delay getting someone out. Amy was an amazing person to work with and someone I would feel comfortable reaching out to in the future if necessary!
