I’d leave a good review ,but I just can’t. Service was good until this point ,but out of the blue the Alvarez neighborhood we are a part of was sold to DSLD without any notice to current residents. Just seems shady given that the price point of DSLD homes are much lower than we paid. How am I supposed to feel paying $340k for a house which is on the low end of the Alvarez prices when DSLD houses will be built next to us that cap out at $325k on the top end. Certain current residents paid over $400k to live here and I’m just finding it hard to see how this won’t effect property values. Do better.
I have bought a home from Alvarez Construction in 2024. I am quite happy with the after sale support of Alvarez. Specifically Jonathon Martin in maintenance is awesome. He was on visit to my home for a 11 month inspection pending item. He took personal interest in getting the things fixed pretty quickly. He is pretty good and even supported on few other occasions.
My daughter just purchased a house from Alvarez Construction Company. They are so professional in every way possible. They completed all the punch out’s perfectly. Also, as a builder myself, I will say that the quality of the house is fantastic! Highly recommend them!! Amazing company! Ty for everything Alvarez!!
We bought a brand new Alvarez home looking to start a family. Fast forward a few years and we have two kids. Mold is growing in our vents due to poor AC installation and not enough insulation. Our kids are sick. We’re sick. Stay away from this company! They do not do quality work.
After almost a year in our New Alvarez home, it’s time to make my review. It’s not good. As if a class action lawsuit against them already wasn’t warning enough. As a military family, we get moved all over the world and we have seen some spectacular housing and some unlivable conditions, I’ll admit, Alvarez falls somewhere in between. Their homes look beautiful on the outside but dealing with them is a nightmare. When we chose to build a home with Alvarez, we were told they were honored to work with an active duty soldier and family and promised us a great experience while still living in TN. That was not the case. Over the course of 6 months we were contracted to receive weekly updates and were granted 6 updates in total, first breech of contract. Next we were scheduled to close June 1. They weren’t prepared, so we extended by 2 weeks with the understanding we could not push back any further than June 14. They weren’t done. We finally closed on June 21. Again, breech of contract. They tried to blame our lender, but they messed up our driveway, so we couldn’t get inspection signed off and then they didn’t send over proper paperwork to the lender so we couldn’t close earlier in the week. When asked for compensation since our 4 small children along with my service member husband and myself were living out of suitcases, staying in a small hotel room and eating fast food every day, Alvarez told us additional contributions are “unjustified regardless of the circumstances.”Additional issues, our washer and dryer hookups and range hookup were mixed up and improperly grounded, our heat was never hooked up, our shower door and the window over our bathtub both leaked. They don’t run internet lines into the room designated for a HOME OFFICE, stating it’s unnecessary. The AC unit for our upstairs is too small to keep up with the space, but hey, it saved them money. They don’t properly insulate anything but especially the attic access, making it even hotter upstairs and there were gaps in our roofing that have caused problems with moisture and critters getting into our attic. Now, we need our AC checked for our 1 year inspection and to have the system balanced but they failed to mention that the contractor they use requires bi-annual maintenance to honor the warranty and Alvarez doesn’t want to pay for the balance if Kent’s determines the warranty is void.Just do yourself the favor and don’t. This company says they care about people and families but the practices say otherwise. And don’t even get me started on their HOA management company or how dirty and disgusting their building crews are leaving trash and food everywhere to attract rodents. They charge $800 a year in Juban Gardens for exactly zero amenities. We were promised a walking path, now they’re saying that wasn’t planned. Our last HOA was almost half the cost and they covered trash pickup at the very least since there were no other amenities. Just STAY AWAY. They definitely aren’t the golden child of builders in this area anymore. Disappointing liars.
