We moved from Texas to Portland to be with our family. When we moved we had a few requirements for a house - private, not overlooked and surrounded by trees. Inside the house we wanted an updated kitchen and modern, spa-like bathroom. we found the perfect house which matched our outside requirements, but need a complete kitchen and bathroom remodel. We interviewed a number of contractors and design specialists until we settled on Mountainwood Homes.
The factors that drove us to Mountainwood was their design team, who we worked with throughout the project and gave us great advice. Also, we wanted a one-stop-shop to ensure we had the remodelling done in specified time and budget. Mountainwood were able to satisfy all our requirements and undertook the project in a very professional manner, keeping us informed along the way of everything they were doing and going to do. They kept to the schedule and the costs.
We could not be more happy with the outcome and now the inside of our house has everything we wanted and will definitely be our forever home.

Mountainwood completed a major renovation for us just over a year ago, including a two-tier deck with built-in Jacuzzi, south facing renovation with staircase addition, and garage expansion. Prior to working with Mountain Wood, we attempted to contract with two other construction groups, but neither progressed beyond the planning stages. We ultimately chose Mountainwood based on their reputation for professionalism, their ability to stay on schedule, and history of staying within budget. They more than lived up to that reputation.

From the first day, we were impressed. The construction crew arrived exactly as scheduled, promptly at 8:00 a.m. Throughout the project, we worked closely with Derek Wood, whom we highly recommend. He was consistently responsive, clear about budget and timeline, and always available to answer questions or stop by in person, when needed. His communication and attention to detail gave us confidence at every stage of the process.

The Mountainwood crew was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly experienced. We couldn’t be happier with the finished project, but what we value most is the long-term confidence Mountainwood provides. As one of the largest renovation companies in the area, we trust that they will stand behind their work. That trust was reinforced when we experienced a roof and chimney leak after the project was completed, Mountainwood responded immediately and came to tarp the affected area.

This level of care defines our experience with Mountainwood. They are collaborators, not just contractors. Their team genuinely cares about the homes they work on and the people who live in them. We feel confident that we’ve partnered with a company committed to helping us maintain and enjoy our home for decades to come.

We had a 1 1/2 bathroom remodel and very happy with the outcome with Tyler, Sarah and Linda on our team. I like a structured process and planning so we aligned on that well. Our project and space was on the smaller side but we were still treated with respect and consideration. Trades were scheduled with that in mind as well. If you’re looking for a quick and cheaper option this is not the group to go with. But you’re paying and investing in quality and peace of mind, knowing the outcome will be worth the investment and time.
