During our project, unexpected challenges arose due to nationwide material shortages following the Marshall Fire. Thanks to David’s foresight and proactive preparation, his team had planned ahead and secured what was needed, so our building process stayed on schedule. As a result, our home was completed on time, without significant delays or financial surprises.

We had an *excellent* experience with David Ellis and his whole team. Our project was a rather extensive remodel-- it was essentially a rebuild from the ground up. David worked with us long in advance of actual construction-- he even helped us find the right architect for our project. He and his colleagues were clearly our advocates throughout the entire design and build process: The EB team pointed out when things were going to present specific challenges; they provided deeply detailed cost estimates long in advance of construction; their on-site teams (PMs, etc.) were spectacular and detail-oriented-- keeping subs on task, etc.; they selected excellent subcontractors for the highest quality work. Most important of all, the entire Ellis Builds team (e.g., David, Fred, Leanne, Mikie, etc.) was focused on providing the highest quality work on schedule and on-budget. Our project came in right on target for both, which was a welcome surprise to us. We have enthusiastically recommended this company to friends and neighbors.

We had an incredible experience working with Ellis Builds during our recent house remodel. From the very beginning, their team was professional, communicative, and always willing to help. What really set them apart was how much they helped us navigate the complexities of the entire remodeling process—from permitting, architecture and design, to the final touches. It was a big project with lots of moving parts, but Ellis Builds consistently communicated status of the project. No project of this size could go without some challenges, but David Ellis and the rest of the Ellis Builds staff was always engaged and treated the project as if it was their own home. David is the first Builder that I've worked with in the last decade that was happy and eager to insert himself into the design process early on, offering constructability and budget insights that have proven to be invaluable. Ellis Builds offers a fresh and unique construction management approach, working closely with both client and designer, ensuring the highest quality product is produced, making complicated decisions less stressful and streamlined along the way. I honestly cannot say anything but good things about this Builder and I am going to do everything I can to continue to work with his team as I design varieties of complex residential new builds and renovations in the future.

We hired Ellis Builds in 2018 to build our dream home. When we met David, Fred and their team it was very evident that they were in this business to help people transform their visions into a reality. They made it clear that they were not just in it to build a lasting home but lasting relationships with their clients. Our process with Ellis Builds started out with simply sitting down and getting to know each other and listening to how we needed the home to function to support our growing family as well as how we wanted it to look and feel. David is an excellent listener and displays compassion and care in knowing he is helping to create for a family one of the most important places – a home- where memories are created, where you feel safe and comfortable and protected. Ellis Builds was extremely organized in managing all the various subs and even completed our build close to the estimated completion date despite it falling during the height of the pandemic (which complicated so many aspects of construction). They have been established within the Boulder and surrounding community for decades which has allowed them to developed great working relationships with many of their subcontractors whom they use over and over on projects to provide the best quality work. Our job site was well kept, and you could tell that those working relationships translated into all teams taking immense pride in their work. We love our home and the quality is standing the ultimate test as we raise kids, dogs, and host friends and family. We couldn’t be more satisfied with how it turned out as well as glad that we chose Ellis Builds to take on the project.
