I am right now in my third, third, project with Hammerwell Builders.

First, they built three townhomes on Canyon Blvd in Boulder that ended up featured in a four-page spread in the New York Times home section. I was lucky to be one of those original homeowners in development with Arch 11 architects and Hammerwell for the build.

Second, they recreated some key aspects of my current home in Boulder that required a tremendous amount of complexity and attention to detail, creativity, and the result has been great.

Third, they are in the midst of adding a meaningful addition to what was a very good common space and is about to be a completely extraordinary common space in the same home as project 2.

The reason I want to write this review is to tell you that Hammerwell (who often are primarily doing multimillion new builds in amazing locations) is one of the favorite companies I've ever worked with. It's not just that they are better than what most people experience in construction (delay, budget, unexpected issues, bad communication). Yes, they ARE better. But more importantly, they're the best. When I hear others complain about new building or renovations with mixed feelings, I feel so fortunate to have a business relationship with a company that prioritizes perfect work AND impeccable client relations.

Working with Hammerwell over the course of 10 years has been some of the best life experiences I have had. They are in my home right now as I type this, doing magnificent work in a magnificent way. They are trustworthy. They spot things you won't think about and bring them to you to make your project even better. They care, about quality and about you. These things are true about every employee of the company (I have worked with the founder, the new CEO who bought the business when the founder retired), two super project leads, and many, many sub-contractors. The values I've conveyed run through to everyone who has touched my homes.

I feel fortunate to entrust the idea and the realitity of "home" with a company like Hammerwell.

I get to work with many custom home builders; Hammerwell, is by far my favorite! Not only do they design beautiful homes, the process and schedules are always on point. They communicate well and have a very transparent process. The quality is top notch! The staff, PMs and business in general are an absolute joy to work with.
