We worked with Petra on our basement buildout project. They handled all installations, buildouts, and finishing for the whole project and we are very happy with how it turned out. Overall, it was as seamless as a home renovation can be. Shout out to Aaron in particular for all of his hard work and responsiveness throughout the process!

My biggest frustration is that I can't convey, in any reasonably-sized review, how impressed I have been with Petra and how exceptional the process of building our dream home with them has been. I'll do my best to summarize, but let me tell you right now, if you're thinking about working with Petra, do yourself a favor: stop reading this review and give them a call now!

As context, seven years ago we undertook a whole-house renovation and expansion on another house with different builder and the process was as brutal and hellacious as everyone says. Having learned many lessons through bitter experience, we became highly informed, and severely critical, consumers of builder services. And so when I say that undertaking our recent project with Petra (a whole-house renovation and expansion on our new house) was a truly fantastic experience, with results that blew away our expectations, it's coming from a place of experience.

Our Petra crew were a Dream Team: a combination of competence, dedication to their work, care for their clients, relentlessness, attention to detail, creativity, problem-solving, and being all-around great people. I can't overstate how important it is to be able to trust in your builder's integrity and capability, and with Petra, that trust is earned from day one.

The quality and speed of the work were unbelievable. Every other builder we interviewed said the project would take at least a year. With Petra, we moved into the house just SEVEN MONTHS after breaking ground for demo! Our friends and neighbors were shocked. And the speed of the work in no way sacrificed quality - we did a weekly, fine-toothed comb inspection with our architects throughout the whole process and found the quality and execution to be absolutely top-notch from framing to finishes.

Despite delivering this level of service, speed and quality, Petra stayed within our budget. In fact, through creative problem-solving and value-engineering, they found us extra room within our budget for additional scope and upgrades (such as redoing our basement and upgrading our mechanical) that we didn't think we could afford!

Jimmy has developed a culture and organization at Petra that are truly remarkable. Not just on the construction side, but the whole roster of people we came into contact with, from finance, design, permitting, the workshop and customer support, were outstanding, professional, warm and responsive.

I cannot recommend Petra highly enough. I do so with no reservations, no caveats, and the sincere hope that you will have as exceptional an experience as we have.

I don't even know where to start so I'll start by saying just how absolutely exceptional our experience with Petra has been. The team is incredible from top to bottom, from the back office, to the design team, to those in the field, as well as all of their clearly highly vetted subcontractors. We have simply never had this level of experience with a builder.

To be blunt, I've never been part of a home improvement project or net new build where every person involved actually gave a shit about their part in its success. We love Petra and will recommend them to anyone who will listen. If you are looking for fun people to work with everyday who also happen to be highly competent, are great communicators, do what they say they're going to do, and who do exceptional work, there is no reason to look elsewhere. Zero.

The quality of an organization is often determined during adversity. Petra Custom Builders proved themselves to be a high quality organization during our custom home build in the middle of a pandemic. We faced many points of adversity but Celeste and Brian G stepped up, handled any issues that presented themselves and made our family feel like we were part of the Petra family. We are truly grateful that we selected Petra as our design build company.
Our completed home is Paradise. We’ve lived here for 8 months and we are consistently impressed with the quality of the work in our home and our guests are always impressed with the design and finishes. We are happy Petra customers.

We’ve done several house remodeling projects, and Petra is by far the best. They did a major kitchen remodel for us, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the result. Their workmanship far exceeded our expectations, the crews were very professional and respectful especially of our privacy and the fact that we were living in the house during the remodel, and best of all, they kept on schedule! They said they’d do the project in 10 weeks, and they did that. How many contractors can claim that? I’d recommend Petra to anyone.
