Customer feedback is mixed. Reviewers frequently mention concerns about post-closing follow-up, workmanship details, and clarity around costs and timelines. Some note helpful interactions with certain sales or customer service staff, but overall ratings reflect inconsistency between the sales experience and after-sales service.
My first interaction with the sales team was amazing, Jayne was very informative and worked with us to figure out the best option for our family. Everything leading up to our closing was fantastic however that where the great customer service stop. At our closing (June 2025) we were informed by the construction team that the uneven ground in front our house will be rectify during grading which will take place Oct-Nov 2025 which was a fair timeline to us at the time. I followed up with the Project Coordinator Dipesh on numerous occasions, and this was confirmed up until Nov 2025 we were told it was happening second week of the month which never happened. It got to a point on Oct 31 (Halloween) where multiple children fell due to the uneven grounds (this were caught on video) so I contacted Dipesh again and was told the grading has been delayed until 2026 with no firm time. He suggested I follow up with the construction manager Sayyad Ishack which I did on multiple OCCASIONS and still waiting for a response 3 months later, I have sent various follow up emails, reached out to head office who sent various emails for someone to contact me and still nothing. Yesterday, I had a deliver driver slip on the very hill/uneven ground I've been complaining about. I've gone ahead to seek legal advice on this matter, if anyone is injured due to this uneven ground who should be held responsible. TERRIBLE SERVICE BY THE MANAGEMENT TEAM. ONCE THE BUILDER GETS PAID, THEY NO LONG CARE ABOUT SAFETY IT APPEARS!
Fraud, fraud, fraud. Empire Communities advertises attractive prices (like $595k homes) but in reality, hidden costs can exceed $20,000. They claim you’re getting $6,000 worth of free upgrades, but in my case, $4,000 of that went to HVAC costs they called “additional,” which reduced the actual benefit. I was also charged $8,000 for a 20 ft retaining wall on a condo townhouse — something never properly explained upfront. The Sale and Purchase Agreement is loaded with terms that can work against you, so read it carefully. Avoid rental HVAC agreements — buying is cheaper long term. Overall, I found the process full of hidden charges, misleading incentives, and extra costs that make the initial price meaningless. I would strongly recommend avoiding this builder.
Over the past 12 years, we’ve purchased about seven homes from Empire. Overall, our experience has been positive. The customer service representative, Pina, has been great to deal with. However, when it comes to the warranty and construction teams for new builds, the experience has been inconsistent—what used to be a strong point for Empire now seems to be affected by either understaffing or a shift in focus from quality to quantity. Most of our concerns have been addressed, except for one lingering issue related to the rear walk-out entrance grading. This was identified during our one-year inspection and remains unresolved. I chose not to escalate it to Tarion because I still have confidence that Empire will address this before it leads to any potential water damage to the foundation. We are still patiently waiting for this matter to be resolved.
Extremely disappointed with the poor quality of craftsmanship from this builder. The work done on my project was subpar and below industry standards. From crooked walls to uneven flooring, it's clear that attention to detail was completely lacking. I would strongly advise against using this builder for any construction project. One star is too generous for such incompetenceShould have read reviews before buying from them. Awful sales team, mediocre decor team and horrible construction team. Quality of build is horrendous and screwups are one too many.Been 4-5 months and there are still issues. How can they claim the house to be close to 97% completion with multiple issues. A nightmare builder to deal with. Never have I seen a builder close a property and take months to fix some basic stuff and then ask us to use the Tarion warranty instead of fixing it.
We are very disappointed and frustrated with this so called builder. they built very poorly and very unprofessional, we still try to make it work with no luck.we have contacted them repeatedly and they have been promising for over a year to fix all the mess and damages but no one ever shows up to fix it.i’ll include some pictures from PDI
