We are so thankful that we selected the Smith & Robertson team as our builder of choice for our new home. At our initial meeting with Glenn, Eric, Jim, and Dallas, we knew that we were in very competent hands. From our discussion of the design-build development phase with Jim, to obtaining the building estimate, the process went seamlessly and addressed all of our concerns. Dallas, our exceptionally talented and extremely organized project manager, kept the project running smoothly during all phases of construction. He updated us on the scheduling and informed us of costs associated with our change order requests. Shaun and Tuck, the in house carpenters, were expert craftsmen who took great pride in their work. All of the subcontractors provided suggestions and performed their trades in a professional manner. The attention to detail was superb. The job was completed on time and within budget. The entire effort of the construction team resulted in a beautiful custom home. We would highly recommend using Smith & Robertson to anyone wanting to build a quality home of their dreams. Smith & Robertson worked closely with me over 2 years to design and build my current home. It was a pleasure throughout the process. And the result is a wonderful house that I love. Which of course is the goal. I can’t say enough positive about the team. Skilled craftsmen (carpentry, stone work, electrical), responsible and responsive at all times, they were consistently flexible and full of ideas to help design and finish off details inside and out. Robby Vogt, the operations leader, is exceptional. If you can work with him your experience will be superlative. A surprising and smart additional aspect is they continue to be available to follow up with any small or large issue that needs further attention even after the construction is complete. As a former professor of business I observed wise business management practices, skilled leadership, and a commitment to high quality and integrity. Building a home is a singular lifetime experience. We began our journey with Smith & Robertson in 2004 with plans to build a sturdy but "not so big" home. I walked into their office without an appointment with the intention of asking some preliminary questions but ended up with an at length discussion with the architect and owner, Glenn Robertson. That positive first impression carried through the entire project. The S&R family focused on the design and build of our home as if it was their largest and only project. Glenn & Ron helped us with the site planning (which moved more than once) to make sure we had the best views and included the location of our barn and pool. Glenn helped with finding both a landscape architect and interior designer to help us articulate and create the vision of our future home.
All this effort was done while there we were living & working in New Jersey over 300 miles away. Our project manager Dan was instrumental in keeping us informed and on track for all the countless decisions that had to be made along the way. Our home was on time and on budget! Dan continued to be our point person if we had any questions about our home once we actually were living in it. There was no question too small even to this day :)
We have now lived in our home for almost 5 years and still marvel at what S&R created for us. This past Spring, we decided to make our screen porch a 4-season room, and the S&R team said "no problem" and made that wish come true too.
We could not recommend a better building contractor and are forever grateful to have Glenn, Ron, Dan (Jim, Ernie, Shawn, Bryce).

If I could give more than five stars, I would. Working with Smith and Robertson to build our house was a really great experience. We started with a completely blank slate; no water, no electric, and a just a bunch of ideas. We loved how collaborative the design process was with them! We had nearly every idea you could think of some of which included: using non-toxic materials, local blacksmith work, reclaimed wood, and many other custom features… so basically anything but straightforward. They made our dream (house) come true.

The team they have amassed are absolute craftsmen and genuinely lovely people. Their selection of quality people goes beyond just the S&R crew; they’ve vetted subcontractors through their many years of working in the area so you can be certain that if they are on your project, they’re going to do great work. They make certain that whatever is being done is done right. They are creative, talented, and outgoing problem solvers which make them the perfect choice for custom home builders. They stand by their work and are always available if you need anything.

I really could go on and on. We are so lucky to have a house built by the team at Smith and Robertson. They’ve built the home that now safely houses our babies and I couldn’t be more grateful. If you’re on the fence if they’re right for the job, meet them. They pride themselves on their quality work and that’s exactly what you’ll get. Quality work and quality people.
