We have been working with Elk Ridge Custom Homes to build our forever home and we couldn't feel any better about choosing them to bring our vision to life. Phil is a dream to work with, he listens and brings so many good and practical ideas that we wouldn't have thought of. It has never felt like we are just another job to him, we appreciate the collaborative and non-rushed process thus far. His level of communication and attention to detail is impressive and something we value greatly. We just completed the design and engineering phase and it's so exciting to see just a bunch of ideas in our head turn into our absolute dream home and it's just the cherry on top to have a team that makes the process fun and enjoyable. Building a home from scratch can feel very daunting but Phil and his team make it seem so easy! We can't wait for the day we move in but are truly enjoying all of the little steps along the way and are extremely grateful to have found them!!

My wife and I couldn’t be happier with our new home and the incredible experience we had working with Phil, Jason, Gabe, and all the fellas at Elk Ridge Custom Homes! Our journey started back in February 2024 when we purchased land and began the search for the right builder. From the moment I spoke with Phil, I felt confident we were in good hands. I spoke with several other builders, but no one impressed me from the get-go like Phil. My wife and I had a couple of Zoom calls early on while we were still out east, and we were immediately impressed with Elk Ridge’s communication, professionalism, and thorough understanding of the building process. All the important boxes were checked—Elk Ridge stood out right away. We signed with them shortly after, and things moved quickly and smoothly from there. My wife and I had a vision for a home and design that was very specific to us—we love the minimal Scandinavian style, lots of natural light, and warm tones. Phil and Josiah headed up the design process and were completely on point in hearing what we were saying. Elk Ridge has a process that is spot on for gaining a clear understanding of your vision, and it showed in the very first set of designs they sent us. From there, we were able to collaborate and refine the plans, using our ideas and inspirations to create a home we were genuinely excited about. We moved out in August 2024, and our first chance to meet face-to-face was during the Colorado Springs Parade of Homes. We walked into a home they had just completed and were immediately put at ease. I knew right then—these guys could build a house. That confidence was only reinforced when I saw the awards they had won. They broke ground in September and from that moment on, their build process was rock solid. Every stage—from excavation to framing to finishing touches—was handled with care, precision, and transparency. We always knew what to expect next, which made the entire experience far less stressful than we had anticipated. I’ve dealt with contractors and subs for 25 years in all sorts of capacities, so I was fully prepared for stress, sleepless nights, and a long list of obstacles—including some difficult conversations. But I was wrong, and I’ve never been happier to be wrong. There was almost no stress, no surprises, and not once was there an unpleasant conversation. The Elk Ridge team stood by us, performed flawlessly, and—perhaps most impressively—any time something wasn’t 100%, they were the first to call it out. That kind of integrity is rare in any industry, especially in construction. One of the things we appreciated most was how streamlined their process was. Each phase flowed logically into the next, and there was never a moment where we felt left in the dark or unsure of what was happening. Their project management, attention to detail, and willingness to answer questions gave us so much peace of mind. We officially moved into our home on June 20, 2025, and it’s everything we hoped it would be—and more. The craftsmanship is outstanding, and the entire experience was genuinely enjoyable from start to finish. If you’re looking for a builder who is organized, reliable, and deeply committed to quality, we can’t recommend Elk Ridge Custom Homes highly enough. You won’t just end up with a beautiful home—you’ll enjoy the process of getting there. Thanks Phil, Jason, Gabe, Ezra & Josiah! We are truly grateful!

We are absolutely loving working with Phil, Jason, and Josiah at Elk Ridge Custom Homes. We spent a lot of time meeting with around 10 custom and semi-custom builders, and we’re so glad we found Elk Ridge Custom Homes. We just completed Phase 1 of designing our custom home, which included designing the house, getting all of the plans through engineering, picking out our finishes, and finalizing the budget. Designing every detail about our dream home with Phil was so much fun. He has an incredible eye for design, beauty, and functionality. He listens to you and remembers your priorities, your wish list, and your style and creates an incredible and unique design from it. He really has a talent for design and thinks of everything. Phil and Jason have years of experience in all of the home building trades and the overall process, so they have been able to answer every question and smoothly guide us through our first time building a custom home. Josiah has a great eye for interior design and makes the finish selection process easy by working with you to understand your style and taste and then researching and bringing you a down-selected list of choices to save you time. When building a custom home with limitless options, without Josiah, you could spend months just trying to pick your light fixtures. The Elk Ridge team used their vast experience, attention to detail, and general good taste to help refine our build to fit our budget without sacrificing any of our priorities. We truly appreciate their honesty and professionalism and can’t say enough about how great it’s been working with them. We’re so excited to start Phase 2 this week and see our vision come to life. Can’t wait to see this house!

We just had the distinct pleasure of working with Elk Ridge Custom Homes in the design and construction of our dream home in Colorado Springs. Initially, we had a different architect put together the plans and started interviewing builders in the area. What became clear right away was the passion, expertise, and relatability of the Elk Ridge team. While other builders seemed to just see the build in terms of dollar signs, Phil had a clear vision and was able to take and tweak the initial plans to be even better than we could have imagined. With the value engineering and redesign of the blueprints, we were able to remain within our budget, even with rising construction costs and inflation. What Phil, Jason, Gabe and the team built us was a modern and sophisticated, magazine worthy dream home. The entire team was phenomenal to work with and made building a custom home as smooth and seamless as possible. Elk Ridge Custom Homes was hands down the most down to earth and best builders in Colorado Springs. We could not recommend them enough!

Months into a frustrating and disappointing search for a home builder, my husband and I were delighted to find Elk Ridge Custom Homes. We were impressed from our very first lively meeting and we are still wildly grateful for having contracted Phil and Jason to build our retirement home. After living in our home for more than a year, we still wake up every morning, happy, comfortable and confident that our house will outlast the extreme elements of mountain living. Phil and Jason had the technical strengths and experience to understand the demands of and build the details of our architect’s meticulous and carefully-engineered plans. Our own ideas were given respect and attention during planning meetings. After discussing the budget, Elk Ridge impressed us with creative and innovative design modifications that retained all of the key architectural elements and energy-efficiency, while lowering the total costs to fit our bottom line. We broke ground just as the COVID pandemic hit. Phil and Jason continually had to adapt to worsening supply chain and sub-contractor issues. In fact, they were absolute warriors on our behalf every step of the way. They maintained excellent quality control during the entire timeline of the build, especially with the unglamorous, yet critical, details of insulation, plumbing, septic and electrical systems. The interior finishes reflect their high standards as well. Each room in the home has unique and delightful special details. Building a custom home is never a process for the faint of heart; the real world inevitably has setbacks and unforeseen problems. Phil and Jason communicated these issues in a timely way and were transparent during the whole building adventure. All problems were resolved to our complete satisfaction. We are very grateful for their remarkable diligence, honesty and good humor, and highly recommend their expertise.
