Yaniv managed a major renovation on our home that included expanding the second floor, remodeling the kitchen, permitting the ‘iffy’ spaces, and updating several other areas. It was a complicated project with neighborhood hearings, permits, inspections, and a seemingly endless number of decisions, and he did a great job helping us navigate all of it. We didn't use an architect or a designer, meaning we relied entirely on Yaniv's expertise to brainstorm layout and design ideas. He was a great sounding board, incredibly clear in his communication, and an expert at navigating the complex web of California building codes and city permits. He made it explicitly clear what decisions were required on our end and guided us through what I thought was an overwhelming process. We also appreciated how accommodating he was while we were dealing with construction during the pandemic with a baby. We had to move out temporarily for the demo portion, but Yaniv worked hard to accommodate our schedule so we could move back in sooner rather than later. Any large construction project is going to have its hiccups, but my wife and I are still very happy with the finished product years later. I’d absolutely recommend Yaniv to anyone looking for someone knowledgeable, practical, and easy to work with.

We hired Yaniv and his team in 2021 to complete a full remodel of our kitchen, laundry and bathroom areas, our outdoor casita, and to add insulation throughout our home. During COVID, we spent several months traveling and keeping the house vacant, and throughout that time, Yaniv and his team worked efficiently and stayed on track with everything we asked for. As with any major remodel, a few issues came up along the way, but Yaniv was responsive and proactive in addressing them. He made sure everything was resolved and that we felt supported throughout the process. Remodeling is never easy, especially being out of your home for an extended period, but in the end, it was absolutely worth it. The finished result is beautiful and truly reflects our vision. Yaniv and his team helped bring it to life, and we’re very happy with the outcome.

Yaniv gave us outstanding support during our decision-making about a 2-bedroom addition to our home. His two site visits were extremely informative and trust-inspiring. I want to give a shout out to Yaniv Taragano. We have lived in the Oakland Hills for 42 years in a house that we have loved all that time. Unfortunately, there was a leak in the ceiling of a room addition that was added on before we bought the house. It was only noticeable during very heavy rainstorms so it was easy to put off getting it fixed. I am embarrassed to say that this lasted for several years. Two years ago, we decided to do something about it and had several contractors come out to look at it. They basically either took a quick look and said that we just needed to have better flashing installed (which didn’t sound right to me) or they advised that I get a roofing person. Then Yaniv came. He did a very thorough analysis of the situation and not only advised a plan to fix the basic problem but also made recommendations (for a very modest additional cost), to take advantage of the construction to put in a beautiful picture window and enlarge our deck. He took care of all the engineering that was required, got the permits, came regularly during the construction to check in on things and stayed in touch regularly. We were thrilled with the result. The original leak is solved, and we have a spectacular view window and deck. We couldn’t have been happier with Yaniv’s holistic approach to our need and the follow through, taking the project from design to finished construction. I am very pleased to recommend him highly to anyone who has building project.

We worked with Yaniv and crew who did an amazing job on our kitchen remodel! They were professional, courteous, and respectful while working in our home. When we first started looking for contractors we had no real idea what we wanted. Yaniv recognized that and was very supportive and responsive. We highly recommend working with them!

Taragano Design and Build We have hired Yaniv twice. The first time was in 2018, when he remodeled our kitchen. The kitchen was a total tear-down and Yaniv did a great job. He tore down a wall and fireplace (other bidders said they couldn’t do that with my budget), and created a large open airy welcoming area. (See picture #1) Recently he finished a double bathroom remodel which included tearing down both bathrooms and building a large two-story addition, with a large bathroom upstairs and a laundry room and bathroom downstairs. (picture #2 - large upstairs bathroom) (pictures #3 and # 4 - downstairs before and after bathroom, and #5 and #6 - before and after laundry room) He worked with me and my husband so that we could participate in the design process, we could choose the appliances and finishes we wanted, and we could interact with him during tear-down and re-building regarding changes and modifications and any other concerns we had. Remodeling is a difficult process. It’s good to have someone committed, hard-working and meticulous on your side. Five stars, 10 out of ten.

Yaniv and his team did a kitchen remodel for us.  We were very pleased with the professionalism and work ethic of the team.  Yaniv and his lead foreman communicated the details of the work being done daily as well as any changes to the original plan.  The job was also completed on time (perhaps even early) which was critical as it needed to be done before hosting Thanksgiving that year. I highly recommend Yaniv and hope to be working with him again in the future for our bathroom remodels.
