The only reason there is five stars is because that is the highest ranking there is or I would have given Newcastle Homes more stars. I honestly don’t know where to start for this review of Newcastle Homes because this was the best experience my wife and I could have ever hoped for having a new house built but living four hours from the new home site. Summer of 2021 my wife and I started looking for home builders in the Padre Island area for our empty nester home to move to. We had owned our beach lot since 2009 and we were finally going to be moving to Padre Island, but first we had to find a home builder.

I called the Padre Isle HOA office and just and asked for the names of builders building in the neighborhood and we would go from there. On a Saturday morning in the summer of 2021 I emailed them all about where our home site was and what we were looking for. On that same day around 5pm on a Saturday my phone rings and the guy on the other end says Hello my name is John Pope, I am the owner of Newcastle Homes, I said hello and John replies, I can easily build this house I am standing on your lot now. I was like what?? Saturday afternoon and he goes to our lot to look at it and call us. Turns out there offices are in our neighborhood and just a couple blocks away from our lot and Newcastle Homes specializes in building houses on padre and Mustang Island.

My wife and I then go for the visit and view their showroom and we are totally impressed with what we see, John ask us if we would like to see some finished homes and we said absolutely. John then calls the last five homeowners of the last five houses Newcastle built. All five of them answer the phone and are happy to hear from John and ask him how he is doing, then John asks if he could bring by some potential customers and show them what the finished product looks like and all five said yes. All five said YES! Then all five were also at work and all five give John their alarm code or tell John where an extra key is. At this point my wife and I are totally amazed. We then took a tour of all five homes and they are beautiful. We asked about supply chain issues because of Bidennomics at the time of building, John explains to us that they get around that by ordering everything for the house the day after the construction loan is signed and to avoid that issue.

That night we agree to use Newcastle to build our next home and we arrange financing, at the close of the construction loan the title company tell us that we selected the best builder on the island and that Newcastle builds an amazing home. Newcastle is owned by two guys, John Pope and Paul Loria, John runs the office and sales and Paul is the construction manager for all the homes. Paul is just as amazing as John, there was never a time in this build that we were not aware of what was going on and what phase we were in, Paul kept us up to date on everything happening at our home site during construction. We were never worried about the building process and we lived four hours away in Austin, Texas during the build.

I just don’t know any other way of saying this other than if you are building on Padre or Mustang Island and you DON”T use Newcastle homes you are taken a risk. John and Paul made this experience of building a home pain free and they are more than welcomed to bring potential new customers to our home to see what amazing work they do.

I am pleased with my Newcastle Home. I bought it directly from the builder and my daughter is the first and only occupant of the home. She is delighted with the spaciousness, energy efficiency, and the layout of the rooms. John and Paul are true professionals and strove to assure my complete satisfaction with every detail during the construction process.
