Considering whether to build with Design Homes was a process that encompassed a couple of years. Lisa at the model home was so friendly and helpful explaining the different floor plans and showing me different lots. She kept me informed of new phases in the community and available lots when I was feeling indecisive regarding making the move to build.I’m so happy and glad that I did! Design Homes at Soraya Farms.In early 2021 We decided to start looking for our next home, we met with a few different builders to go over what we wanted. Most of the builders were not your average builder. We knew exactly what we wanted in a house and what we could afford and what we were willing to spend. We were greeted with nothing but hostility and people who were downright rude. We had been through a couple of Design Homes during Homearama, we didn’t really think we could afford the caliber home they provided. We decided to go through an open house one day, it wasn’t really the layout we wanted but the finishes were what we wanted. We were greeted by an older gentleman who was only there to show the House and see his daughter for the weekend. He was super nice and really knew a great amount about the home for someone who was there for the weekend. He asked us what we were looking for and what the house didn’t have that we would like, he then decided to walk us over to the next house and introduce us to his wife. She was also there to see her daughter and show the homes for the weekend. Completely made sense to us, they were super friendly and social. We loved the houses we saw, I kept thinking to myself “man this is going to be out of reach we shouldn’t have come here and looked”. The next weekend we decided what the heck we don’t really know until we go and find out, so we made an appointment to meet with the VP of sales Angela Flory “the daughter”. Again, we were greeted and treated with nothing but respect and kindness, we looked at the beautiful Model and went over a couple other floor plans. We were never hounded about if or what we could afford. We ended up liking a floor plan they had under construction and went under contract 2 days later. The entire time Angela made us feel welcome and kept us informed on everything that was going on, the house was going to be done in roughly eight months. Six months in at 5:30 on a Friday I text Angela briefly asking her to call me it was important. I am sure that was the last thing she wanted to see especially on a Friday. I made it worse and told her we no longer wanted the house we were currently under contract on, she seemed caught off guard and politely asked what do you mean? They had a house we loved that was a little more than we were comfortable with but it was exactly what we wanted top to bottom, it looked like it was built for us. I asked her if we could buy this house instead and close right away, she was shocked and said wow this could be a little hard to make happen with the mortgage and all of that, I had already called the mortgage guy and had all that worked out. She called me an hour later and got everything approved for moving our deposit and got the contracts drawn up right away. We closed about 30 days later. We could not be any happier with our home. From the very first day we have always felt like we mattered and that we were not just a paycheck at the door. The follow up has been great, we really have no complaints at all. We would 100% recommend Design Homes and especially Angela to anyone and everyone, we will absolutely buy another home with her and with Design Homes. Next time will be on land.
