Motor City Home Improvement did an amazing job with the projects I needed completed and I look forward to working with them again. Great communication which is absolute key when working with me, quality work, and everything was completed on time. Highly recommend for any home improvement needs!
Thank you for the quick response to our roof repair in the middle of a snow storm! Great service always.
This company is an absolute joke. Greg is very unprofessional. They took triple the time they said they would to complete our bathroom remodel and the job they did complete was so unprofessionally done. Grout on my tile that can’t be removed, chips in my tile, two different paint colors on the ceiling, chips in the paint, chips on my brand new vanity, cracked my brand new tub (fixed the issue my having the tub refinished but not replacing), and they also caused a leak in my ceiling when hammering/removing the old tub, said they “fixed the issue” a year and a half later my daughter takes a bath and it starts leaking in the same exact place it was when they caused the leak. So whatever bandaid fix they put over the leak finally broke so now I have to spend more money for someone to come out and fix what they should have in the first place. All Greg did was offer a couple hundred off the final price and that’s after I had to ask.
I want to start by saying that I genuinely hope this review aids other customers in making the best decision for their homes.Motor City Home Improvement has some nice people and is quite affordable compared to most other companies. The work that they do is quite beautiful. However, expect the job to take a year for one and a half bathrooms, scratches, mistakes, miscommunication, lack of communication, and little communication with Greg after paying the first bill. As the pictures of the emails display, we signed and paid the first part of the bill on 6-12-23 and I contacted them when the half bath was still not near completion on 12-26-2023.There were very few updates and communication after my email outside of the email you see as Motor City's response. In the pictures I have shown the sink they installed was not remotely close to the sink we chose, filled out paperwork for, and purchased. Fortunately, Motor City apologized and they were able to fix the issue in a few weeks. The pictures also show some of the scratches on the door and the floors that they fixed with puddy (after we complained). The floors are rough, but we did not need dents that deep in our floors that make them more difficult to repair. Additionally, Motor City was not aware of the first or second time when the mirrors were not installed in our large and small bathrooms. The first time for the large bathroom there was a delay that I do not recall and we had to ask Motor City to please contact the glass company to get our mirror installed after waiting a month. The second time after waiting a month or more, Motor City did not know that the small bathroom mirror was never installed. We found out the glass company lost our address and phone number... We do not understand why the glass company that Motor City hired did not contact Motor City to get our address and contact information. After my email, Motor City Home Improvement did start working on our bathrooms a bit more consistently, but they died off again. My Uncle had to call them and complain and was told by Greg they would be back in a week. They did not show up after that week so my uncle called again. Greg apologized and they installed our light fixtures and the bigger bathroom for free due to the extensive delay and issues. They finally completed everything and we paid the final bill on 6-13-24. It took them a year to complete 1.5 bathrooms...We are happy with most of the work that was completed, but we feel a year is quite excessive and not worth the cost. We were also assured in the email response from Motor City Home Improvement that our bathrooms would be done before April but they were not. When working with a business I feel it is important to keep to your word. Lastly, I feel we should not have had to tell Motor City to fix some of these issues. As a good business that has been around for years, they should have noticed the scratches, missing mirrors, etc., and fixed them on their own, but maybe I am being too picky. We do greatly appreciate though that they did repair their mistakes and painted the one bathroom for free.In conclusion, I wasn't going to post this review, but the last straw occurred in June 2024. My family member was speaking with the secretary regarding some finishing touches. The secretary was a bit rude when she asked my relative where they received the painter's phone number because my relative called him and the painter was not happy that we called him. The secretary said we were not to call the painter and we should have called her. We explained that one of Motor City's employees gave us the phone number and directed us to call the painter. She told us that the employee should not have done that.I feel this could have been handled by Motor City Home Improvement and their staff without involving us. It was accusatory and a bit inappropriate since they were within the week of finishing our entire job. Not to mention, my understanding was that the painter has a company, so it's quite odd that he doesn't want people calling him. *Finished bathrooms in pictures*
I gotta say they did an excellent job on my new garage. Hands down the best and easiest people to work with. Greg, Blake, & Trent did an outstanding job keeping me informed on what’s going on and giving me suggestions on how or what I should do. I couldn’t be happier with my new garage addition. The garage looks perfect, they are even doing my cement driveway. Thank you guys for the effort and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done in a timely manner. YOU GUYS ROCk!!!
