It’s been a challenge having moved into a Hartford home at Trailside. We have 1 year warranty on the home and appliances, but so may things have gone wrong, and it’s a pain to manage it. I would not do it again. I’d find a reputable builder who gets things fixed immediately. This is not the one. Super slow and vendors are below average from having to deal with electricians, HVAC and appliance people. All are non-skilled and have had several visits and still the same issues. Hopefully these issues will eventually be resolved, but it’s a pain to have to manage it, be available for appointments and deal with the lack of experienced workers that are sent over.
If home buying were an Olympic sport, Julie would be coaching me to a secure gold medal with Hartford cheering ferociously from the sidelines. I haven't even had time to panic yet — she and her team are just that good, calming and overall fun to kick it with. 10/10 would start the signing process on another 30-year commitment under her supervision. She's the bee's knees...
We had a great experience working with Hartford Homes. From start to finish, the process was well-organized and professional. John, our construction manager, was a pleasure to work with—clear, knowledgeable, and always willing to explain the details. The sales team was friendly and responsive throughout, and we especially appreciated Sarah, who kept us in mind as new lots became available and ultimately helped us find the right one. Overall, we’re very happy with the quality of our home and the team that helped bring it all together.
Our experience with Hartford Home was amazing! We worked closely with Sloan and she was great! Our whole building process was perfect! Very personable experience not just another buyer and number on a spreadsheet to meet goals. We have been in our home 2 months now and we absolutely love it! So happy with the whole experience especially as our first home! Matt and Cody were great to work with and answer any questions in a timely manner!
Our experience with Hartford Homes has been a true disappointment. We live in a town home in their Mosaic neighborhood. Upon purchasing the home we were informed that the landscaping is fully included and doesn’t need to be maintained by town home owners. What they didn’t mention is that the entire landscaping was done in the cheapest way possible and that within a few months of completion it would be costing owners thousands of dollars to fix.The mulch has blown away in many spots (some areas just a few weeks after the landscaping was completed), there are many dead plants and trees throughout the landscaping of the townhomes.Homeowners have been contacting Hartford Homes for months, but the company claims the HOA is responsible for paying for and fixing the landscaping. After filing multiple warranty requests, I received a call back from Mike the “president” of Hartford homes who proceeded to threaten me that if I wrote a poor review it would just decrease our property value. He said any warranty requests I made would be voided even though we submitted clear evidence of the landscaping issues by units that are still under warranty.I was also in contact with a representative from the City of Fort Collins Forestry Department, who mentioned that Hartford Homes is very difficult to work with and they wait until a formal violation is issued by the city before replacing any dead trees that they are responsible for.All in all a very unprofessional way of handling the situation which has left many of us frustrated and facing increased HOA fees to fix the botched landscaping project. Disappointing, especially for a local builder.
