Woodland Custom Homes did our new build after Hurricane Ian. I am writing this 11/2 years later. House is still beautiful and strong. Any and all issues were taken care of including Carolyn sending a screen for my garage that was on back order. 1screen.Great to work with. Would build with them again in a heartbeat ??
Woodland Homes has been building a home across the street from us for the last two years. We have relandscaped our property 3 times because they repeatedly rutted out and gouged the property with heavy equipment. We tried putting up signs to no avail. They threw food and garbage on our property, parked on our property, used the property for ladders and other equipment and even workers sat under the bushes on our property leaving behind their empty food containers, soda cans, water bottles and other building trash. We tried speaking with the contractor and he rolled up his window of his truck refusing to discuss the problem cursing and making rude hand gestures. We then finally called the owners of the company. The father and son came to meet us and they promised us that when the property was done and the landscapers came in they would clean up and repair all of the damages they had caused. The landscaping has been done for over a month now and instead of repairing our ruined landscape they contacted the town to complain about the landscaping being in the way of them trying to work in order to prevent them from having to repair the damages they made to our landscaping that had been in place for over a year and we had repaired 3 times. Woodland Homes has no respect for any neighboring properties they build around nor do they treat the people with any kind of courtesy or professionalism. Be aware that if Woodland Homes comes into your neighborhood to build that this could happen to you and they will not repair any damages they make to your property.*UPDATE*The contractor is now bullying me. Last week I left my driveway for a doctors appointment. There were several large trucks parked on the side of our street due to the town working on our street. I waited behind a large truck and when they saw I needed to get down the street the gentleman got into his vehicle and pulled off to the side of the road for me. The contractor from Woodland Custom Homes pulled right in front of my car just a foot away from my bumper and refused to move although he had several places to pull over and several driveways to pull into so that I could pass. He was making hand gestures and yelling something. The contractor made me back down my street past several large trucks and I had to pull over to the side all the while he was inches away from my front bumper. As he passed he was staring at me and laughing.This behavior scares me to death. If I see the contractors silver truck in the new build across the street I won't go outside for fear of what he may say or do. This aggressive, hateful behavior is unacceptable in any profession! It's just evil!
I have built two homes with Woodland. I am impressed with the house and love the layout and design. After closing Woodland came back and completed all outstanding items, or maybe I should say are in process. I feel confident the items will make it to closure. Kerston, our field manager, is outstanding and has a calming effect and provides great confidence in doing the right thing. More to come....
Building a home is a series of big and small decisions . You will be dealing with very professional and ntrol experienced owners who can give you help and advice throughout that process. And, their experience makes them very flexible in ability to adapt to your preferences. One of your concerns is whether the subs will do their job showing concern for quality of the finished product. Be assured that Woodland only hires specialist firms that are excellent in their field. Things will fit together right and work right. When your house is built, you will not have a long list of redos and nothing major because they take care starting with the foundation pour. We’ve recommended them since they built our house.One more thing. Close to quality control in importance is “flow” or the way people use the design of the house - - rooms, doors, stairs, exits, and so on. Woodland’s engineers seem to have a perfect sense of what will work. We’ve seen some other builder’s “custom” homes that are just ridiculous.
