My wife and I built a house with them in 2020 and we have had to fix something every year since we got it. I feel like I have put more money and time into fixing this house than they spent building it. When we finished our basement, our contractor asked who wired the main panel and when we asked why he said because it shouldn’t have passed inspection. There were too many things on circuits and said that there are certain appliances that should have their own circuits. I’ve had to fix 3 cabinet drawers because they aren’t on the rails correctly. Our HVAC system wasn’t wired correctly. When we did our 1 year walk through we found an air vent that had been carpeted over. During our pre-drywall walk through I found a floor air vent that they tried to out in the shower. It was only after I reminded them that a shower was going there that they realized the air vent shouldn’t be there. The front porch grout has broken in at least 3 different places and we don’t use the porch often. When we moved in we asked about power outages when they asked about whole home generators and they said it almost never goes out. It went out three times within the first few months we lived here. Turns out our section of the neighborhood is on a different power grid that would go out constantly but they didn’t tell us that when we built the house.

When they put our sod in for the house they dint out it in correctly and left gaps. So the grass died within about a month. When I brought this up to them they said it’s not their problem and it’s not their fault despite the fact that I watered it the way they told me. They said that the grass isn’t covered by the 1 year warranty.

Our dishwasher was never secured to our island so we had to do that ourselves. We found this out when we were trying to fix something in it that broke and the dishwasher slid partially out of the housing area.

The house warming gift was a cutting board with our first names on it, and even though they had my wife’s name on every document known the man, they still got something that simple wrong. The only good thing about the company was the service manager who gave me his personal number and would come out during the first year whenever we needed him (which was a lot) to fix things.

I am a disabled navy veteran and I am disgusted by my decision to buy this home developed by Atlantic builders.

Before I start I want to say I do not want anything from Atlantic builder nor do I want them to comment an apology on this post. Im simply writing this to save others from buying these overpriced, underdeveloped, terribly constructed homes.

It’s been a year and a half and we have cracks running through every room. I didn’t realize how bad the home was put together until I started getting an education on construction. Their drywalling was terrible they didn’t tape right so there’s giant cracks in my ceiling and walls. They didn’t mud right now in sunlight you can see big hills in the walls and ceiling.

They set up temporary light fixtures in the kitchen that don’t require light bulbs and after a year they’re already going out and the only way to get new ones installed is to hire a contractor.

I had to buy a whole brand new dishwasher because the on they installed wasn’t anchored correctly and broke, It also broke the housing space it was in.

They installed a retractable garbage drawer on tracks and it’s had to be replaced 4 times already, and it’s going bad again. They used the cheapest materials and paint in the house like cheapest you can imagine.

The walk in bathroom they installed is falling apart on its own. It’s disgusting what was done on my home.

Half the people in our community is looking to sell their homes now. Just waiting to break even.

Oh wait I almost forgot they set us up on an HoA in California!! And we live in Virginia. Needless to say it’s awful. 50% of the time our trash isn’t picked up and our lawn is all but dead!

Look I’m telling you people this so you don’t end up like my family truly honestly these people don’t give a crap about the customer. They’re good at pretending and that’s it. Save yourself.

I almost forgot they when my dishwasher was destroyed because they didn’t anchor it and I replaced it; I also discovered they didn’t finish the floor under the dishwasher!! Truly the sign of a terrible construction crew. To purposefully hide work they skipped!

I honestly could go on all day but I’m becoming noticeably angry thinking about how terrible these people are.

Hi, we have only been in our home for about 1 mth. I'm beginning to enjoy my new home as I'm still in the process of unpacking! I would say our experience was both fun and challenging! Working with Chris and Pattie was easy. They tried their best to accommodate us when we had questions and concerns! And boy did we have questions every week! Lol Being a home owner for the 4th time makes you more aware of how things should be done! After being the general contractor for our previous home we were very concerned and always had questions. They tried their best to give an explanation or make it right! We love the layout and have gotten many compliments! Melissa at the design center was easy and fun to work with!
She was very helpful and pleasant Wee appreciate all they have done. Now it's time for us to make it our home! Thanks Chris, Pattie and Melissa

They were honest about everything and always professional. Kind and considerate. The team responded quickly to all inquiries and addressed every concern/question that arose. They worked well with our realtor and kept us well informed every step of the way from start to finish. Even after we closed the team has continued to be responsive. Most importantly, the crew finished a 5-star build ahead of schedule!! We LOVE our new home, and we are so thankful for Atlantic Builders! They exceeded expectations before and during the build. Fingers crossed that the high quality customer service continues through the warranty period. I’m confident that it will.
