Overall, we are very happy with our purchase and the experience of dealing with Oakhill Homes. Their subcontractors were polite and efficient at getting the work done. Yes, there were a few minor issues, but within 2 weeks of moving in, they were all addressed to our satisfaction. They walked us through the house and explained all the essentials.Jim Middleton, our salesman, and Troy, the maintenance man, were both very easy to deal with. Based on our experience, which was 3 years from first talking to them and deciding to sell our home, until we moved into our new home, I would recommend them without hesitation.
House cost over $500.00 to heat !No one repairs anything. I have doors the failed on the walk through inspection that are still not repairedI was hoping that because the homes are built in the factory they would be perfect. Far from it.Just a sample of the not sealed outside water and electrical outlets
What should have been a pleasant & happy experience on our first new home turned into the biggest nightmare ever. Very disappointing. If you wanna make this right with us. I want to talk to the owner!

First off if I could give negative stars I would. I’ll start with we went to meet with oakhill to discuss a home and a custom build. On their website it claims that they build custom homes with custom floor plans and even help you design the layout, we went in with a floor plan from another home we liked. We stated what we wanted extra, which was a garage , quartz countertops, landscaped and a finished basement. What I’m assuming is the basics most people would want in a home. Our budget was 500k which is a very healthy budget for what we wanted here in New Brunswick. The sales representative was quick to say none of this was an issue, they can easily do all this , it didn’t sound complicated , and then said to get our pre approval from the bank so we can get the lane we wanted. Well, by the next week we had the pre approval from the bank. I should state we have an existing house and are selling ours this coming spring to be able to build so couldn’t get a final approval until the sale of our homes which will not be an issue. Our current house is also an oakhill home but that is besides the point, maybe they don’t trust the resale of their own builds who knows. So I sent the representative the pre approval who stated they will accept it and move forward with the house. We almost have our deposit then but just wanted to wait for the final price of the build we were told wouldn’t be an issue. That’s when this company failed on all fronts , I was then told this was too much of an undertaking, contracting out someone for a garage was an issue, finishing a basement was an issue, the agreed upon pre approval was now an issue after I was told it wasn’t. Then they went on to say the factory didn’t want to build custom homes and didn’t want to take on our project. When we were in there originally we were told everything we wanted to hear, but when it came down to oakhill following through they failed miserably. I highly advise anyone looking for a custom home to go elsewhere, this company is nothing but a headache and will only let you down in the end. Go to Kent homes or anyone comparable for a pre fab home or custom build as at least they will stick to what they tell you. Or better yet go see a contractor, I am very disappointed in our treatment from oakhill and how they could say one thing but then do another. Save yourself the trouble and stay clear away from this place.
