We went to Red Door just to get a comparison of what a real house built would be as opposed to a manufactured or modular house. We found out over spending several hours with this wonderful salesperson Jessica Smith, that it really wasn't that much more money over the life of the home to have a sturdy well built home versus a modular home of excellent quality.We went to them with a vision after looking at several floor plans on their website. The process has been very detailed and lengthy. Unfortunately, we didn't get the line item price at the time when we were adding things that we would like to have in the home so the first go round, we're just given a total price..... We were a bit surprised at the final total cost over their website price, but we did have alot of extra wants! But everything has gone up in price tremendously over the past couple of years. When we went back again and found the cost of each of our upgrades, we had to further scrutinize the big ticket items to see if we can live without them. For example, we added a screened in patio to the rear of the house $$$ - only to have to remove the $14k screen part to cut costs to reduce the overall price.Every little thing requires a form to be filled out for each change. There's so many things that you don't think about until after you've sat down. Like the house comes with no window dressings at all.When we previously bought a brand new house, the window blinds were included.We're still not totally done making changes, we're still fine tuning things and so the cost seems to continue to be a moving target, going upward. We just hope it doesn't go too much more over our original expected budget.Jessica has been amazing in assisting us so far working thru everything, getting each detail documented so that the end product will be what we imagined.It seems that Red Door is going to accommodate our every want, wish and desire so we'll keep you posted along the way.

From the moment we walked into the show room that we met with Lori everything has been nothing but delightful. The quality of work, the communication from the portal with pictures and updates it’s outstanding. We’re still in the process of construction and the progress has been amazing. The team is always there to answer any questions or concerns. Can’t thank you all enough for doing such a fenomenal job. Best is yet to come! ??
