Seems an interesting concept in home building. Finish quality is a bit off. When I pointed out finish issues with the sales associate, he was quick to find excuses. Not sure I trust a builder who cuts corners even on their models.YMMV!

We had our home built by New Village and have had an absolute nightmare experience, which is still currently on going. The builder has terrible communication before, during, and after the completion of the home. We spent our entire closing day trying to figure out where the rest of the house was that we purchased and products were never installed without any indication to us that they wouldn’t be. Lastly, the little customer service we dealt with is a take it or leave it attitude that was directly driven by the owner (Reed Porter) with no remorse for the treatment of its customers. We had to argue and make threats to get any answers out of the company in a timely manner, then we’re told that we can just give the house back by a sales representative, AFTER WE CLOSED! If given the opportunity I would never have used this builder!! The fight to get what we paid for and have our contract completed will surely be an uphill battle I do not wish on anyone. Lastly, be sure to document everything that is wrong during walk through a via pictures, they will be ignored unless you do their job for them. Look at some of our “finished” product including cabinets that won’t open due to placement, finish work that looks horrible, scratches in cabinetry, and the list goes on.

We are building a new home with New Village and are planning to close in the next 6 weeks. Before we made our selection, we looked into other builders and a few key elements put New Village above their competition. Being a ‘smaller’ company gives them more of a family approach with the process. We know our project foreman by name, and we are on a first name basis with most of the team. From the contract process to the design center to the on site communication, New Village offers a personalized and quality feel. They offer more options included with the home and offer a higher quality build overall in our opinion. First, the homes are built with spray foam insulation in the exterior walls and attic. Our home will be like a little igloo cooler in those hot summer months- we cannot wait to see what our utility payments drop to compared to our 1980’s previous home. The low-e double pane windows block heat and are impressive. They offer 10 foot ceilings standard which you will find is an expensive upgrade with other builders. The exterior of the home is smooth sand stucco which gives an upscale look. We prefer the mostly stucco design and believe it will be easy to maintain with less wood to dry rot and need repainting over the years. The neighborhoods have an upscale, cozy feel- they are designed with timeless spanish style architectural details such as metalwork, accent windows, and brick accents. Included pavers in the driveway and patio are a beautiful touch. On the interior of the home, we found the cost of the builder upgrades to be reasonable. My husband is a techie and loved the customizable options for making our home a ‘smart’ home. The included car charger in the garage will be handy for his electric vehicle. Karen at the design center is a pleasure to work with and there were so many options for us to create our dream home. We have been able to view the house during the build process and have been impressed with the attention to detail. Any minor issues were addressed by the foreman and construction team before we even had time to mention them. We feel confident that we will be happy in our new home and enjoy the quality of craftsmanship for many years to come. I would highly recommend New Village to a prospective home buyer.

Great homes and rentals!!
