We could not be more pleased with our KIB home. We recently wanted to move to Montana from New Mexico to be near family. We contacted a handful of builders but found only one responsive, willing to chat with us "long-distance" and genuinely interested in what we wanted. We scheduled a trip to Great Falls to meet with KIB and met Nick Acker, who knowing we were in a time crunch, had cleared his calendar for us. He drove us around and showed us several houses and while several were very nice, none checked all our boxes. After giving Nick a detailed list of what we were looking for, he called us and asked us to come look at a plan. It was 100% what we were looking for - no compromises. We got the wheels rolling and returned to Albuquerque. Nick kept the process moving smoothly and kept us informed every step of the way. Where we needed "extra" help, he spent time walking us through options and the pros and cons of different materials and options. The web-based construction system that KIB uses is a game changer and really adds to the comfort level building a home as you can check, 24-7 and see exactly where every aspect of your project is. Updates, pictures, everything is there. Even though we were a thousand miles away, we felt completely engaged. Home building is complex and the weather can really throw wrenches into the best of plans. We had everything we owned in moving trucks, and we were nervous as the planned completion date neared. KIB was on time to the day. No problems, no surprises - just our amazing dream home waiting for us. In our first year, we had only one issue that needed attention and it really had nothing to do with KIB. A couple of our kitchen cabinets had developed checking in the clear-coat finish. KIB had the cabinet folks out and they were replaced within a couple days. Beyond that - our home has been perfect. I should note - we had a RV garage/shop built adjacent to the house. The way they positioned them to complement each other gets noticed and we often have people ask us who our builder was. If you haven't noticed, I'm totally impressed with KIB. We're a retired couple and we've owned a handful of homes through the years. Nothing compares to this experience. If you're on the fence about building - get off it. KIB makes the process as simple, straightforward and hassle free as possible. The KIB team is wonderful and we sure are grateful for the selection we made.
Great Company to work with. Came to KIB with a custom home, and they knocked it out of the park. They are 100% open with the entire process. We felt more like KIB was truly invested in building our home with the best craftsmanship, all the while, providing accurate pricing. Thank you for providing us a amazing forever home.
This is our second KIB home. The first home was a spec house we bought brand new and now 5 years later we moved into a home they build for specifically for us. We had such a great experience building our home with KIB. Nick, Gabe, and Will were amazing to work with—always professional, responsive, and truly cared about making sure everything turned out just right. The whole process went smoothly, and the quality of the home is excellent. We went with the “choose a plan,” it still gave us plenty of options without being overwhelming and was a great way to stick to our budget. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend KIB!
We had a fantastic experience with KIB. The quality of work was excellent, and the team was professional, reliable, and easy to communicate with. Cody and Gabe kept us informed every step of the way and delivered our home on time and assisted with any changes we had. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a trustworthy, skilled builder.
KIB recently completed a custom build for my wife and I outside Great Falls. We met with a couple of well known established builders in Great Falls before we came across KIB. The experience with the first two builders was an awful experience and I’ll not name them because this review is not about them. I will say that the one who created this earth was watching over us by steering us away from them. The dealings with the two builders was so bad that I had come to the conclusion that perhaps this was Gods way of telling us not to build this house. We had come across KIB by reading internet reviews of builders in the Great Falls area. We were, at the time, also helping my son find a builder and KIB ended up building a house for him and his wife. I was so impressed with the process and more so with the End result that we sat down with Nick Acker at KIB and discussed our goals. We had many meetings with Nick, both in person and by Zoom. Monica Miller also was instrumental in helping us design and reshape our end result and she was wonderful. A lot of trust was needed on both sides for this build because we were building from a great distance. Were it not for the conveniences of the modern age, we probably would not have built this house. While the first two builders that we encountered seemed to have no concept of a hard earned dollar, KIB was always focused on value. My wife and I both worked 60 hours a week for many decades to save up to build this house and we wanted the proverbial “ most bang for the buck”. I actually think that this is what distressed one of the builders we initially met with as I think they focus on unique features and extravagance and they prefer to build for people for whom cost is not a major consideration. I hoped for a comfortable, safe, functional ,durable home that also looked nice and was something I could afford. It was of little concern to me how it fared in a Parade of homes contest.Anyway, Nick always kept cost in the decision making process and for that I am grateful. Every stage of the process was impressive. From footings to foundation to framing and finishing, the work was impressive. I am much more focused on basic construction and structural integrity and I must confess, in this regard, KIB far exceeded my expectations. This house was built to last. All of the subcontractors that I was able to meet with were very professional and even seemed to enjoy meeting me and helping me make choices about plumbing, electrical and HVAC items. As a result, I am extremely happy with the way everything turned out.If you want a well built beautiful and comfortable house and you work hard for every thing you have and own, KIB should be your first stop. If you are unsure, spend some time with some other builders in the area and then meet with KIB. I am guessing you will experience the same revelation that we did. A well deserved thanks to the many many hard working men and women who helped build our house. It turned out more spectacular than I could have imagined. Also a special thanks to Karl, Nick , Gabe and Bill who went out on a limb, so to speak. This wasn’t a routine build in a platted subdivision with pre-approvals in place and handy utilities at the lot line. This project had a lot of unknowns that wouldn’t become certainties until well into the building process. As I said before there was risk for all involved and I am very thankful that KIB took the risk to build our house! One final note- KIB talks about transparency. I kind of glossed over their emphasis on it initially. We had several remodeling projects over the years with different contractors and I was accustomed to estimates being universally low and cost overruns being the rule and not the exception. In the current climate of escalating lumber and steel prices and continued inflation of wages and finished products, KIB did not pass on any cost increases to me. They were transparent throughout.
