Our relationship with Granite homes began with a visit to their beautiful model home in Elora. The sales team were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Buying a new build was not something we had envisioned but they answered our many questions and put our mind at ease.The design consultant was very good at walking us through all the choices. We never felt rushed and appreciated all the insight given.Our build went smoothly and we felt we could reach out at any time for reassurance.The house is now our home and we have been impressed with Granite Homes from beginning to end.
Horrible after sale service. Builder is not transparent and failed to disclose important information. We paid a huge lot premium for “extra deep” ravine lot, only to discover after move in and grading was complete that we are losing over 30% of our backyard into the forest, which makes it unusable. This was never disclosed and they had ample opportunity to divulge this. In addition, poor judgment in grading as they created a huge slope toward the rear of the property which makes an additional 10 ‘ of the backyard unusable. Gradual slope or potential retaining wall would have been better. The builder lacks common sense. They excavated the lot next to us right adjacent to our foundation and failed to place a safety fence or barrier. There was a literal 8 foot drop right next to my driveway making for a huge hazard and liability. We have tried to resolve this amicably but there head office (Christine Baker, VP operations) is unwilling to resolve. Dealing with them is like hitting your head against the wall. No integrity, transparency or accountability. We have no recourse but to pursue legal action.
So happy with our home and experience with Granite Homes. Sandra.A was incredible to deal with right from the get go, even with us bringing in our own agent. She was extremely attentive, and always quick to follow up with any questions or concerns we had. She even reached out after we moved in to ensure we were doing good and enjoying the house. Not your typical Sales Representative, but an amazing Representative for Granite Homes!We had a quick close, and once we had possession of the house, we did decide to remove the carpets in the bedrooms, and replaced them with hardwood floors to match the rest of the house. We did run into some issues with the subfloors, but Granite Homes was so quick to help us rectify this before we moved in. Sydney.J the Service and Warranty Specialist and the team was so great to deal with, and made moving in so seamless for us.We are adjusting into the town, and so far love the neighborhood and community. Wonderful neighbours, and even they have nothing but amazing things to say about Granite Homes. Overall, we are so happy that we went with Granite Homes and are confident we will be here for a long period of time. The builder and the team have honestly been incredible to deal with and always so friendly and wanting to ensure everything is done right. We really couldn’t ask for a better builder!
