Lissa and Peter were great throughout the process! Lissa walked us through every step, answered our million questions and was sure to offer expert advice along the way. Peter worked meticulously and came up with some really unique solutions including a hideaway cabinet for our wifi router. Basic Builders is the perfect way to make IKEA cabinets look like luxury cabinetry :)

We are super happy with our kitchen. This was our first time doing something like this, and Lissa and Peter really helped us figure out how to put the million different pieces together and turn our vision into a reality. For a sense of their attention to detail, look at the photo of the backsplash. Peter planned out our backsplash so that the tiles would neatly turn the corner and not repeat in odd/noticeable ways. Peter and Lissa bring this kind of expertise and experience to everything that they do. Highly recommended.

I’m thrilled with how my kitchen turned out! Lissa was patient and thoughtful, working through six different layout designs to make the most of an oddly shaped space. Peter is not only a skilled contractor but also an engineer, and it shows in his attention to details. His workmanship is top notch, and everything was done with precision and care. The project was completed on time, stayed within the budget, and the final results exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Basic Builders. I’d trust them for any type of project, and not just kitchen.

Lissa and Peter Welles of Basic Builders are an amazing team that can build any type of Ikea kitchen you can dream of . Peter is literally an engineer that can figure out anything regarding customizing an Ikea kitchen . He is great with layout ideas, problem solving , and making beautiful door panels on the ends and backs of islands . Basic Builders has installed four kitchens for me over the last twenty years . They are always stunningly executed . If you are thinking of adding an Ikea kitchen to your home or apartment, I would book a consultation with them to start the kitchen of your dreams .

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Basic Builders begin a kitchen project?

Clients submit photos or a sketch and complete a questionnaire before Basic Builders prepares a preliminary proposal. If it fits the budget, the company schedules a measurement and design visit.

How long can countertop manufacturing take, and are sink hookups available during that time?

Countertop manufacturing generally takes 2–4 weeks. Without a temporary counter, sink and dishwasher hookups are unavailable during the wait.

Does Basic Builders install flooring or remodel bathrooms?

It no longer offers flooring installation; clients arrange that work separately. It focuses solely on kitchen installations, not bathroom projects.

Does Basic Builders install cabinets other than IKEA cabinets?

It occasionally installs cabinets from other brands.

Can Basic Builders provide a licensed plumber or electrician?

It currently has no licensed plumber or electrician with whom it works, but will help source one if possible.
