Our house burned down in March of 2025. We were at a loss and had no clue what to do, America's Home Place took our idea and made it a reality. Less than a year after our tragedy we were in our Dream Home. All of the staff there was helpful and understanding. I'd like to give particular thanks to Candice, we came in in a State of Shock barely was able to communicate our thoughts and wishes for our new home. She was patient and translated our broken ideas into the most beautiful place we could ever live. The whole team there was amazing. On the construction end of things Ethan was our general contractor. He was quick efficient and professional in every sense of the word this young man has a bright future. America's Home Place is a little bit more expensive than the cookie cutter subdivision housing. But what you are getting in return is number one, the best quality materials on the market. Number two a complete custom home building experience and finally, number three. Fast efficient well-constructed work. I would recommend this company to anyone! Looking to build a new custom home on their property.
Great experience. I love that fact that they start so fast, within 30 days. They walked us through the process and helped us plan for things we never would have thought about. Great staff and our home is beautiful. 10/10 recommend. Jeremy Hux was a great Project Manager.
I have nothing but praise for the America’s Home Place team in Knoxville (Kodak), TN. We met with Candace after an acquaintance referred us to them since we have been looking to build a house for almost 3 years! We started the process in July 2025 by meeting with Candace to look at plans that may fall within our budget. While other builders had quoted us well out of budget, Candace and America’s Home Place said they could find a plan that would fit our parameters. We looked at our options, went home, and made the decision on a plan.Next, Sydney walked us through our selections like a pro. It certainly helped that she had worked so hard on a book that we could look at prior to coming in and making selections the day of, as we are the type to not want to be put on the spot for such major decisions. We had a base idea of what we wanted since we had the opportunity to see our options prior to making the selections. Finally, we started building with Ethan. I’ve never met someone as attune to responding as Ethan. Any issue we raised, Ethan responded with “we will fix it”—and they did. After being essentially written off by potential builders in the past, Ethan made it seem as though no level of excellence was unattainable. We are planning to move into our home within the next month and could not be happier with the product nor service that we’ve received through this entire process. The Knoxville team for America’s Home Place is the best!
We are incredibly thankful we stumbled upon America’s Home Place! We were referred by someone else, and we couldn’t be more grateful for that recommendation. From the very beginning, Candace made such a positive impression. She was encouraging, knowledgeable, and listened to what we wanted, helping us find a home that fit both our vision and our budget. She was so personable and genuinely helpful throughout the process.Sydney was also wonderful to work with. She sent us a handbook before our design meeting, which was a game-changer. Being able to review all of the design selections ahead of time completely eliminated the stress of the meeting and saved us so much time—we were extremely thankful for that.We truly cannot say enough great things about Ethan. He has been outstanding from start to finish. His communication throughout the build has been excellent, and he has consistently addressed every question or concern we’ve had along the way. We are so grateful to have had him guiding us through this process.Overall, our experience with America’s Home Place has been exceptional, and we are so thankful for the entire Knoxville team who made this journey such a positive one.
You should never expect perfection when building a home, however, we got pretty close with America’s Home Place. Here’s my experience from start to finish, good and the bad:From the first phone call, they stood out from other builders we were interviewing. Their stand out quality was that they could actually communicate and acted as if they wanted the job. In this era, that can be enough to be impressive.During the design process, Candace had all kinds of ideas to meet my requests that some people claimed were ridiculous. I’ve gathered that she has an extremely high IQ with punch of OCD as she was able to get in my head to configure my thoughts and match it with whatever mathematical equation was necessary to make these ideas work in the house plan. After getting the plan down, we went to design with Sydney.I’m sure most people who build houses spend a lot of time picking out their designs, but this wasn’t me. I can’t put together a simple outfit on a good day. I felt secure with Sydney’s help the moment I saw her though because she is clearly one of those pretty girls who are always put together even when they don’t try. She was a little too nice though. She didn’t tell my husband he lost his mind when he wanted to pick out all dark colors. I understand though. Anyway, we had to go back and forth a few times with Sydney because we kept forgetting what we picked despite them sending us our selection and us taking pictures of our selections. We’re busy people and can’t remember anything. Sydney never minded going back over selections with us, even if it meant more work for her. After that we signed no less than 10k papers and we got started with Will, our project manager. He did a great job managing all the contractors, which turned out to be mostly pretty solid contractors all around. There were a few issues we had from the plans that were noticed when the build started. One of our garage man doors didn’t align right, we had a window not aligned right, and a few other things. Will is pretty much the solution guy and I can tell AHP put him on the front lines because he has one of those personalities that everyone likes even in high tension moments. When things go wrong in the house you are putting your life savings into, a guy like Will is what a company wants. He was always good at communicating what the issue was, and immediately followed up with 2-3 solutions as well as welcomed solutions from us. My husband is a licensed home inspector, and I’m very “type A”, so I know we weren’t the easiest to work with, but Will continued to treat us like our satisfaction was his top prerogative, which made this experience qualify as as a 5 star experience even if everything wasn’t perfect. Will went above and beyond to make our house a home, doing things we know he didn’t have to do for us. He went out of his way so much and answered our calls/messages at all hours… I’m telling y’all… this guy put so much investment into us and our house that I think he might have been under the impression that he was moving in too. We are incredibly grateful for him and the entire AHP team. Thank you all for the experience and the home. We’ll be using this AHP to build again in the future. Here’s some things we might have done differently:1. Triple check final plans for anything we made changes to.2. Not bring a baby to pick out designs (although thanks to AHP for helping to babysit, too.) I was distracted and paying that $500 for a change order later on sucks.3. Verify what is different between the model home and the base design of home. (I thought a buffet table in the model home was standard and it led to changing the kitchen design last minute, causing people to scramble and us paying more money.)4. I’m a visual learner. I would have walked through all the AHP homes I could and wrote down things I did or didn’t like.5. Drilled for a well FIRST. We went extremely over budget because the well people couldn’t find water. Our house almost resulted in becoming AHP’s house.
