Customer feedback is mixed. Many recent positive reviews mention responsive communication and timely handling of warranty punch lists. Critical reviews cite concerns about certain installations and subcontractor workmanship on specific homes. Overall themes include responsiveness from the office team and variability in trade performance.

Purchased a home this past year and moved in this past fall with Mayberry. From start to finish they've been a delight to work with - always answering questions along the way. Don't be shy about asking anything. Any warranty work that existed as I moved in was dealt with promptly. Keep them updated throughout the year on any other warranty work as the house settles (all very minor things) and they've always been quick to respond.

This builder beat the last builder of our condo in Brighton. That builder and his contractors caused many issues w/plumbing, sub floor, water heaters and proper drainage around the 3 unit condo buildings. Even though the issues that were addressed with our Mayberry home built in 2022 were small, they were taken care of by the warranty contractors quickly and properly. We have used the electrician a couple times for things we wanted added and they were fantastic. Ben (from Mayberry) seemed to do all the nit-picky repairs that were warranted and they need to keep him for sure. Although I’d like to see some higher end windows in our home, all is well. I agree with someone else regarding the “landscaper” they use. NOT good. As well as others on the street, we’ve spent a good amount of money to have a lawn and maintain it. With the prices of the homes, landscaping should be a PRIORITY and done by qualified, knowledgeable people. That is a major selling point for sure. Just maybe need to work on sloping/drainage for all homeowners past and present. And still………Five stars for a very good builder in any case ! We love our “trains, planes and automobiles” new ranch home. ??????

Drew Philson on Mayberry Homes

Mayberry homes built my home in 2019 and we bought it at the very end of 2021. Since we bought it, there have been two expensive and serious issues due to poor craftsmanship. We’ve had to deal with a slider door that wasn’t sealed correctly and an AC unit that was improperly installed. Essentially my slider door has streaks on the entire inside of the glass pane due to improper install. My AC unit’s refrigerant levels were twice what they should have been. This is only possible with improper installation.

I’ve called Mayberry about both issues and they’ve said tough luck because the home is out of warranty and we are the second owner. The guy on the phone was very disrespectful. The home is less than three years old, I wish they stood by their work.

Very promising builder. They are always good with clients and respond quick. Compare to other builders in this area they are far better in everything. Hoping they maintain same standards going forward too.

I am very pleased with my Mayberry home, however I can only give 1 star because of the company that Mayberry works with for landscaping. Mayberry contracts your beautiful new home to have landscaping done by Crooked Tree. I have attached pictures of my rock infested, weed infested and starved lawn. I have irrigation that sadly was put in by Crooked Tree. I spent over $1,000 the first summer watering my lawn and about that much the second summer. My concerns were not addressed by Mayberry. I have hired Smith Tree in the third year (a recommendation from a kind neighbor with a beautiful lawn) and they are doing an amazing job repairing the damage done by Crooked Tree. When I see new homes being built in LSP, I am sad to see the Crooked Tree flags. I know that Crooked Tree is in other Mayberry projects doing the same terrible job. If you are thinking of buying a Mayberry home really look at the yards of the newer homes and you will know what I mean. A Crooked Tree yard is easy to spot- weed infested, rock infested, uninteresting plant material and starved thin grass. What I hope that a potential buyer takes away from this message is that you do not have to work with Crooked Tree (I did not know). Tell Mayberry that you want another landscaper and you will be proud of your home inside and out.

I would have given Mayberry 3 or 4 stars if I had Smith Tree as my landscaper. Mayberry's staff are wonderful to work with. They are caring, professional and knowledgeable.

Another tip is to prepare for your initial inspection and your 11 month inspection. Keep a log and every time you see something that needs to be corrected write it down. When you do the initial inspection - really look. It should take a few hours if you are conscientious.
