As a designer who has had the privilege of working with Paul on multiple projects over the last 5 years, I can confidently say he is one of the most honest and transparent builders I’ve ever worked with. His integrity, transparency, and dedication to his clients are evident in every project. He is highly involved from start to finish, ensuring quality, clarity, and a positive experience for everyone. His professionalism and genuine care make him an outstanding partner to work with. I truly value our working relationship, friendship and the level of trust and professionalism he brings to every job. I would highly recommend Beacon Homes.
My husband and I built our first home ever with beacon homes. Custom is a lot different than a track homes we learned! We are young and had no idea what we got ourselves into. Given that information the builder, Paul, walked us through this process step by step.Paul builds a pretty dang good home! I can feel the difference between a custom home and track homes. We got everything we wanted! I give five stars to Bacon homes because I feel like no matter what they did everything they could do in every situation.Reasons one should use beacon homes.1. Everyone always says builders are sketchy and don’t trust them but I’ve never felt that way with Paul. He is honest and I guess that’s hard to find.2. He’s actually responsive and texts you back.3. He communicates every pro and con with different ideas and situationsGreat company and now we have a great home !!! Still feel like this isn’t our house because it’s so beautiful!!
We finished building our home with Beacon Homes in January, and the whole experience was better than we could have hoped for. From day one, Paul was incredible to work with the biggest issue being finding someone honest and responsive through the process. Communication was excellent throughout the process we always got updated with progress and financial side of things so there were no surprises. Paul also made sure any savings were passed on to us we even ended up under budget when all said and done. The subcontractors were all great to work with too and have come back since move in if we have had any issues or fixes. Which I think is normal with new homes to have some minor issues they have been great coordinating and timely response. The design team was also a huge help, especially for my wife. They made the selection process smooth and enjoyable, helping her bring her ideas to life and making sure everything tied together perfectly.Overall, Beacon Homes made the building process stress free and even enjoyable. We’re so happy with how everything turned out and truly appreciate Paul and the entire team for making it such a positive experience. Highly recommend them to anyone thinking about building!
Unfortunately, we did not have a positive experience with Beacon Homes. We built our home back in 2019. The project kept getting pushed back largely because of subcontractors being short handed. The home was ultimately finished right before Christmas, but with all sorts of issues. The tile work was awful, we still have a black stripe down the middle of our quartz counter top where it was seamed. They were supposed to put feathered floor joists in the basement so they could run the duct work for the heating and air through it so it didn't drop down into the basement and make the ceiling too low. Paul "forgot" to do that. Kind of a big "forget." The engineered wood flooring is peeling. We ultimately ended up having to file a law suit because they refused to fix the issues. Paul has a clause in his contract that you have to file a law suit within 30 days of closing. And even though the state gives you 6 years, there is also a clause in the states law that states, "unless the contractors contract states differently." It has been a long 6 year battle with us ultimatelyon the losing end. It has been draining emotionally and physically. We still have a law suit against Designer Home Interiors, one of the subs, that we hope to settle soon and maybe get some of our issues fixed. Beacon Homes also put in a heating and air unit that was way too small to cool our home and it cost us $13,000 to replace it with a unit that would finally cool our home. It's heartbreaking to build your dream home. The one we will be in until we die, and not be happy with it. Make sure you read your contract carefully and have an attorney look it over as well. Don't settle for a contract that has a clause in it that limits your rights.
We used Beacon Homes to build a custom home in Pleasant Grove. We moved into our house in January 2020 after a 6-month build. It was on time, on budget, and Paul was always super responsive – what more could you ask for in a contractor?Building is always a stressful time, but Paul was a great communicator and was particularly good at raising concerns early in the process so that we weren't scrambling to figure out difficult decisions with limited time. Our house was a unique design with some unorthodox plans, and we also appreciated his creativity and intelligence to figure out things that oftentimes weren't straightforward.
