I purchased a home at the Casa Grande, AZ location and it took 17 months to complete, which I was understanding of. However, there is no quality assurance being performed on their homes by construction managers and asssitance. There have been 3 that I have gone through now. The construction manager's first walk through at the home to check the quality upon completion was with me at closing. It has been over 1 month since my closing date and am waiting for numerous trades to return to fix poorly completed items from cabinets, stucco, paint, baseboards, leaks in shower, loose plumbing in restroom, brick wall, and doors. Neighbors have been telling me about the same issues.

So let me preface this review by saying that the office staff at this location is awesome. No issues there. I signed to build my wife & my future home in early September, and was told that it should be done by the time she gave birth, ~6-7 months. But they are SO FAR BEHIND in building that they haven’t even gotten close to the address. So after getting pushed back and delayed, finally I started looking elsewhere to see if the same issues Gehen had were elsewhere. Not only did I not find that to be the case, but a neighborhood we had looked at previously was completely framed up, moving on to drywall. Meanwhile the lot I signed for with Gehen sat empty, no progress made. Finally in January, I had had enough. Yes, I’m aware of the 2 year clause in the contract, the time that they have to build it. But when other developers are putting up homes in record time, and even while Gehen themselves are moving on to their lakes project, Homestead stagnates. So, in order to be in a home before my wife gives birth, I signed with another builder. I hope Gehen enjoys that ernest money they kept as well. Because no matter how long they keep you dangling, no refunds, not even if you’re using a VA home loan.The attached pictures are from the beginning of September, and the 1-4-20EDIT #1 It’s been over 24 hours since they responded to this review asking me to email them. I did, and no response.EDIT #2 It’s now been over 3 business days with no contact from Gehen at the email address they supplied me. Gehan homes has been great to work with! Our sales agent Jenny has been really helpful, responsive and professional through the process. Our home is getting built and the quality craftsmanship shows. Very Happy!
