Critical reviews cite concerns with workmanship details, warranty dispute outcomes, and follow-through on fixes. Overall ratings reflect both satisfied new-build experiences and frustration with specific quality or service issues.
Terrible service and wouldn’t recommend this business to anyone stay far away. This is how they do concrete work; leave wood 2x2 in slab and try to patch with quickcrete and then lie and say it was fixed!
We had our house built with Heritage in 2025 with Butch as our contractor and he was fantastic and very helpful. They did a fantastic job- we even hired an inspector to come and double check everything before completion and he was impressed with how well our house was built. After a year, we scheduled our warranty call for a few minor touchups that happened over time. Logan Hall was fantastic and worked with our insane schedule to fix everything without hesitation and made sure that we were satisfied with all the fixes and did an extra walk through to make sure if there was anything we were missing. If we ever build a home again we would happily chose another plan with Heritage Homes!
After 1 year of having our house built the floors are warped by our french doors. Made a warranty claim and was denied from a cable being ran by the door. Even tho the builders did not caulk the exterior of the door correctly. Claiming that the cable is the cause of the water getting in.
I had the Cambridge built the end of 2010 moved in April of 2011. It’s time I spoke up. This started as soon as I moved into the house.” I thought” I was buying new kitchen and bathroom cabinets, no these cabinets were used and came out of someone else’s home. The mortar in the brick is deteriorating. All the doors are not even, some are shorter than the other, with big gaps. The toilets suck, you have to flush them at three time to get to flush. The air conditioner, I had to get changed out for a newer on, within less than year after the house was built. There was hole the roof, which caused water damage to my house. The roof was half assed put up. I didn’t get a brand new home, I got a used home.
Company & staff incredibly easy to work with. We're retiring from NY to SW Alabama and signed with Heritage Family Homes to build the Warwick on our land after numerous builder inquiries and reviews. Being 1300 miles away caused some great anxiety. The staff in this office made us feel like we were their only project. The job supervisor stayed in constant contact sending phots of updates and continuously asked questions for approval before moving onto the next step. When a family emergency arose for the supervisor, Heritage called me immediately and gave me contact numbers for his substitutes. The super even coordinated a few extra requests with his contractors such as extra concrete for the driveway and extra soil spreading for the final outdoor clearing (We did pay for the extra but Heritage did the coordination for me).We paid for upgrades and a screen porch on the Warwick, which really wasn't that expensive. We moved interior walls during the planning stage actually flipping the kitchen location, removed the tub from the master bath and put in a walk-in shower, removed a window from one wall and put it on another & put the garage door onto the front of the house due to yard space at no additional costs. From ground breaking until closing took 8 months with an extremely wet Alabama winter. All said & done, Heritage came in about $30K lower than the next reliable builder. There were others but reviewing the complaints filed with Baldwin County on them really limited our choices. We were never pressured for progressive payments until we were completely satisfied. The only reason I didn't offer 5 stars is that I had to arrange for gutters and basic landscaping (Sod and some extra property grading) because it wasn't offered. We highly suggest speaking to Heritage Family if planning on building.
