When our home burned in the 2020 CZU fire, in the Santa Cruz mountains, we felt very apprehensive about selecting a contractor to build our new home. We did detailed interviews with 15 different contractors, with a series of questions regarding their experience, expertise, client relationship and communication, project management, practices etc. and followed up on each of their references. In the end, we selected Dolatch Construction. We couldn't have been happier with our selection of Reza and his team for this critical work having such a major impact on our lives.

Working with Dolatch and their team made every step of the process transparent, with detailed scope and itemized estimates & allowances with contingencies, milestones and schedule. While Dolatch wasn't our absolute cheapest bid, they were certainly one of the most competitive and comprehensive, assuring that we knew exactly what we were buying, when we should expect it and decisions that were required of us. Dolatch was an excellent partner in the engineering design, (even for a difficult site on the side of a hill) ,and collaboration with local building department challenges. Dolatch explained all decisions clearly and was forthright regarding details including any risks. Billing, change orders where handled professionally and we did not experience any surprises. They managed and assured the highest quality of workmanship, managed any/all issues, assured appropriate inspections and oversight of their broad subcontractor network. Any problems that arose were taken care of expeditiously and Dolatch always kept us informed, assuring that any options and associated pros&cons were thoroughly vetted with us prior to action. Dolatch was always available and responsive, both in joining meetings with the architect as well as answering any questions or comments we had expeditiously.

We hired Reza to do a major Kitchen and family room remodel that involved moving some load bearing iwalls, raising the roof line, etc. Having remodeled many times before and having worked with multiple contractors, Reza stands out as the best we have ever dealt with. He Is very well organized, detailed, has an eye for architectural and interior design aspects beyond just plain Contractor work. He communicates the status and the plans really well and keep the project moving on Target. And he’s creative. Not the cheapest bid we got, but it was well worth it!!
