We built an attached ADU for aging in place. Accessibility was critical. Ray suggested subtle adjustments like wider doorways and a walk in shower that didn’t look clinical. Those small details made a huge difference.

Our experience with King David Home Builders started after researching ADU builders in San Jose for months. We wanted to convert our detached garage into a livable unit.

The structure needed reinforcement, which we did not anticipate. Ray explained the engineering requirements clearly. It added work, but it made the structure safe and code compliant.

The finished space is stunning. High ceilings, smart layout, and efficient use of every inch. It is now rented to a young professional, and the rental income covers a large portion of our mortgage.

Our goal was rental income. We needed the numbers to make sense. Ray helped us adjust the layout slightly to maximize square footage without increasing costs dramatically. That small design tweak ended up increasing our projected rental return.

Construction was organized. The team worked full days and kept the site tidy. There were minor material delays with windows, but communication was constant. No guessing, no chasing updates. Now the ADU is rented, and the tenant signed a two year lease. It has already changed our financial outlook

They were truly a pleasure to work with. Professional, communicative, and genuinely great people who cared about both the project and our experience.

Beyond the excellent customer service, the final result exceeded our expectations. Every idea and vision we had was brought to life, and the attention to detail was clear in every part of the home. We got to know many of the crew members who worked in our house, and everyone was friendly, respectful, and highly skilled.

Our home turned out beautiful, and it’s a direct reflection of the quality of work and thoughtful design the team delivered. From the start, Ben was upfront about the process and gave us a clear plan with no hidden surprises.

The ADU itself turned out even better than we imagined — solid construction, modern finishes, and ready for use right away.
