We consider ourselves extremely fortunate that Homes by Hendriks was able to take on our little project — transforming a 2+ car garage into what we now affectionately call the “Garagemahal.” Yes, it still looks like a garage from the front (we love staying incognito!), but inside… it’s absolutely incredible.

From the very beginning, the team treated us with the same care and attention you’d expect on a million-dollar build. It never once felt like our smaller project made us any less of a priority.

Their staff was exceptional from start to finish — always professional, always kind, and always focused on making our happiness their top priority. They were also incredibly respectful of our property and our routines. The crew kept the site clean, organized, and secure every single day, which meant our little dog stayed safe and we never had to worry. That level of care did not go unnoticed.

The trades and suppliers they recommended were top-notch as well, and every single person involved played a part in the outstanding quality of the final result.

Their reputation in the community truly precedes them. Any time we mentioned that Hendriks was handling our build, the reaction was the same: “Ahh, you’ve got the best.” And now, having seen the craftsmanship firsthand, we understand exactly why.

And speaking of craftsmanship — Isaak deserves special mention. He was so much more than a foreman; he’s a true craftsman. Even the “simple” things, like our deck and replacement fence, look extraordinary because of the care, precision, and pride he puts into his work. Isaak frequently brought forward thoughtful suggestions and smart solutions we never would have considered ourselves — ideas that helped us maximize the space and elevate the overall design far beyond what we imagined. He made sure we were comfortable, informed, and confident every step of the way, and his attention to detail elevated the entire project.

Everyone who’s seen the space has been blown away by the quality of the workmanship. We couldn’t be happier with how our “Garagemahal” turned out, and we’re so grateful that Homes by Hendriks had room in their schedule to bring this dream to life.

We built our home in Niagara in 2024, with Homes By Hendriks as our construction partner. They were an excellent choice for our project. Our home is a modern, minimalist farmhouse, designed to sustain a meaningful connection to the surrounding agricultural lands and to Lake Ontario. The design incorporated sustainable, barrier free and low energy features, with local and Canadian materials used throughout for both structure and finishes. The Hendriks team honoured those choices with enthusiasm.

From our first meeting through to the day the keys were handed over, the Hendriks team was a model of professionalism, transparency and commitment to perfection in every aspect of the construction. Site issues and design complexities were met with deep knowledge and an admirable curiosity to explore new materials and approaches. Communication with the site team was open and clear; we were given frequent updates on progress and potential delays, and construction costs were backed up in detailed monthly reporting. Honesty and integrity are clearly embedded in Hendriks' operation.

We met many of the tradespeople who worked on our home and they were an impressive group of workers, taking evident pride in their work and sharing the Hendriks' team's commitment to excellence in every detail. We came to the end of our project with deep respect for the craft and artistry of many people.

Our relationship with the Hendriks team has continued post-build, as they have been on site to help us learn how to live in our new house and to solve a few operational issues.
