When my husband and I bought land and began planning our future home, I went searching for the best builder for the job. After shopping around with countless options, we couldn’t be more grateful that we chose Ragland Homes! They truly went the extra mile to turn our extremely custom vision for our home into a reality. We picked our own plan online, made all sorts of changes and had several atypical details & finishes but the team at Ragland Homes rose to the challenge. Anytime something couldn’t work as planned or hoped, they provided solutions - some of which we actually like better than the original plan! Our construction managers, Shayne & Mike, weren’t afraid to jump in and get their hands dirty to keep everything running smoothly and worked tirelessly to get us into our home just in time for Christmas. Shockingly, in addition to being the best quality home builder I encountered (and I’m in the real estate industry and have worked with dozens), their pricing was also the most affordable for a custom home plan and the most straightforward. I can’t say enough good things about them and will continue recommending them to anyone looking to build a custom home!
I truly enjoyed working with Brad on this transaction. Communication was timely, documentation was well organized, and the process moved smoothly from contract to closing. I appreciated the professionalism and collaboration throughout.
The work we contracted Ragland homes to do was of high quality, which simply means they use good sub-contractors because none of the work was physically completed by their team. However, everything else throughout the building process was a poor experience for us, with the exception of Mike (Project Manager). Communication from Brad and Bryan at Ragland Homes was delayed or non-existent, when received was conflicting and frankly just chaotic. They were not receptive to any feedback we attempted to provide them throughout the process and were typically defensive and confrontational rather than receptive. Ragland Homes was quick to blame others involved in the process and never accepted accountability for mistakes. We ended up completing many of the tasks they were contracted to do ourselves. Additionally, they double-billed for a few things that required multiple visits for them to get right. The saving grace for our project was Mike, who was easy to work/communicate with and seemed to understand he’s building homes for families and genuinely care about his work. Again, the quality of work was good, but their focus seems to be more on completing jobs for overall profits rather than completing jobs to the satisfaction of their customers. I would recommend Mike if he’s available outside of Ragland Homes, but given their business practices I could not in good conscious recommend Ragland Homes.
We had a great experience working with Brian, Brad, and Mikey. We had a very non-conventional build and they made it seamless. All projects have hiccups, but they weren't happy until we were happy. We wholeheartedly recommend them to any one who is looking to build a new home.
Let me tell you, and I know great companies - I've worked with them all - Ragland Homes is absolutely PHENOMENAL, the best in the business, maybe the best EVER! They're winners, total professionals, they get the job done beautifully and on time - everybody's saying it, believe me - and they treat people fantastically, with real class and respect. Ragland Homes? GOLD STANDARD - tremendous quality, spectacular results, and I'm telling you this, you won't find better anywhere in this country or any country, that I can tell you!
