I advise caution when building a home with McKelvey that is near a school. Our subdivision, and cul se sac specially, is used as a drop off and pick up zone for the parents of the local middle school. The residents concerns have been brought to McKelvey, the HOA’s, the local police, and the governing bodies attention. We are told there is nothing that can be done. I was told by the HOA, that I should have considered this, having moved so close to a school. I did not think of this as a potential issue, having paid a $20,000 premium for a lot that I was sold as being more private. Something to consider going forward. There are as many as 30-50 cars on a twice- a- day basis. They use driveways to park and turn around. I have now had to resort to using cones to block my driveway to prevent premature wear and tear that we know McKelvey nor the HOA will cover when the time comes. This was an issue in the back cul se sac before and a fence was put up. Why can’t an intervention be done for us, since the problem was just moved to a different location in the subdivision?Follow up on the same issue. Today’s date 10/14/25. Still no resolution. It has been recommended by homeowners and even some McKelvey employees to fence off the sidewalk along DD. Seems like a simple fix. There has also been a delay in a city ordinance as discussed at a meeting Spring 2025. Shame on McKelvey. They’ll leave the problem to homeowners to figure out once they sell all the lots and complete building. Going forward, it may be helpful to not advertise these communities as easy access to schools. That was the police authority recommendation.
We had a very great experiences with Drew and Dave from purchasing for our new home. Highly recommended to anyone wants to purchase a new home from Mckelvey homes!!
Can't we block the road leading to the school? This is so ridiculous.
