We recently constructed an ADU on our property in Fullerton. Our initial general contractor only showed up to collect checks and do the bare minimum. Im more than satisfied with the job done by Andrew and his crew. If there was a delay in work, it was my fault because i insisted on ordering supplies myself in the pursuit to save money. If i had the opportunity to go back in time, i would let the professionals take care of ordering the products. My floors are so beautiful and it was done in such a quick manner. 1st Choice Design and Development came into my roofing project after another company not only attempted an illegal installation, but also damaged the integrity of my rafters. 1st Choice Design and Development, Tony and his employees, assisted me with getting a structural engineering plan completed and approved by the city, new permits pulled, and quickly and correctly installed a beautiful new roof. Communication throughout the process was excellent. The integrity of this company's employees were above and beyond my expectations and they all were willing to assist where needed. I will be recommending this company to everyone I know.
I had an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) custom built in San Diego by 1st Choice Development. Huge success, as the final result was exactly how I pictured it, and had a flood of rental applications as soon as it was ready. Worked mostly with Tony Holder with the project coordination, and he was very open and let me communicate any specific details to his employees and subcontractors as needed. Stuff always comes up in construction, especially when it's a big project... But they were always accommodating with my build details to increase quality and have a nicer finish, as long as I covered any material overages that were not part of the drawings/agreement. I think it's always worth it to invest in quality and I was glad to find a contractor that was onboard to do those things, even if it's a little different than the 'standard'. I have worked with a lot of stubborn and naive contractors that think they know everything, and don't want to change any of their ways and don't want to do anything different than what they always do. Not the case with Tony on my ADU build, and that made a huge difference in experience and outcome. Zero change order upcharges. Already planning my next ADU build with them on an investment property. Highly recommend.
