I called Stephen one afternoon last week. He returned my call promptly. He listened to my current need to house my son patiently. He gave me a great deal of information and realistic expectations for cost and a timeline. Ultimately he encouraged me to pursue the most expedient solution which was a floor model from another business. He is a real stand up guy. I can’t say enough good about him!
I found Stephen to be a great resource. He afforded us a wealth of knowledge regarding set-up, zoning, and things to think about as we go through our process.
Stephen was easy to work with and upfront about costs. I was especially impressed with his crew - they took care of all the site work, from laying the foundation to hooking up the septic and well, electricity, building a deck, etc... I would have given five stars if the home showed up in the specified color, per my instruction, and per Sonoma county permit guidelines... How could they miss something so obvious? I had to eat the cost of purchasing new paint (about $600-700), which I found unacceptable but didn't fight it - because I just wanted to get the job done. There was another oversight that cost me , involving a random door, in the bedroom that Stephen and I should have caught before putting the order in... But otherwise, ordering a home through Stephen (at the time, dba Tiny House on Wheels) was much easier and far more economical and efficient, than building one from scratch. Many people stop by to comment on our 800sf manufactured home.
Stephen provided me with great advice and insights that he has developed over his 50 years in the business. I was able to present him with my current situation and future goals, and he gave me honest advice with how I can get there, without trying to sell me anything.
I stopped by their display yard on a Saturday to take a look at their beautiful model of an Accessory Dwelling Unit. I spoke to Max who was there to answer questions. I didn't know how easy it was to build a second unit in Sonoma County! I was amazed to hear how quick the timeline is from design to delivery. I will definitely be keeping Sonoma Manufactured Homes in mind as an option for second units.
