Customer feedback is mixed. Positive reviews mention helpful sales staff, smooth warranty follow-up on early issues, and satisfaction with finished homes. Critical reviews describe communication gaps during build delays and concerns with workmanship on specific items like showers. Themes repeat around responsiveness and clarity of updates during construction.
Raylee built our 2nd floor shower with poor quality waterproofing, and now I am paying the consequences for choosing this builder. When I contacted them to see if they would help me resolve this situation I was politely told to get lost. This shower must have been leaking from day one, because after we discovered the leak and pulled off some tiles to investigate, our subfloor collapsed. Now we are dealing with years' worth of rot and mold because of their negligence. The unfortunate part of this story is, I gave Raylee a chance to make this right with us before starting down less friendly paths and they wouldn't even give me the time of day. We've already dealt with roof leaks and collapsing cinderblock walls on our "brand new" home over the last few years, but this is the last straw for me. Just a little customer service would have gone a long way for my good will. I suggest you give them a hard "pass" and work with one of the many other local builders who seem to care more about their workmanship and customers.
The dishonesty with this company is inexcusable. Most of the 5 star reviews come from people who work at the company. Also, the communication was severely lacking. My wife and I were attempting to managing temporary living arrangements while the house was 4 months delayed and they refused to provide us with updates. Even when they said they would call us weekly once we complained, we went 3 weeks without an update until we called them. That made an already difficult situation so much worse and could have easily been avoided. If you’re looking for a house in White Rock this still may be your best option, but just be prepared to deal with a company that doesn’t have your best interest in mind.
I bought a new home through RayLee Homes. George Quintana sold me this home and was very informative for my first time buying a house. He was great to work with and gave me useful advice. Bill Dahl, the builder, was also great to work with. I am happy with my house and through speaking to Bill I know he takes pride in the houses he builds. Both of these RayLee Homes team members made my experience great and I like my home.
My husband and I are from Maine and we have dreamed about living in New Mexico for years. Finally after much research last year we found the Mariposa Community in Rio Rancho. We toured all of the model homes and selected Raylee builders because we liked the quality of their work. After spending time with Ray in the sales office we had the confidence to move forward with building the Crystal Cadiz’s model in the Castle Peak neighborhood. We thought that she truly loved her job helping folks find the best home for their lifestyle and budget. We never felt an inauthentic “sales pitch.”Our friends thought that we were crazy to build a house in New Mexico while living in Maine but we really trusted Raylee and they didn’t disappoint us. Every step of the process was a pleasure. We made 2 visits before close, the first being at the design center to select finishes. Ashley was very professional and detail oriented and although we were exhausted from our flight she made the process easy yet exciting. We had total confidence that what she said we were going to get was exactly what we got.We considered ourselves fortunate to have the company’s building supervisor Matt because he was very organized and communicated with us throughout the build, sending frequent photos with each step. When we went for the second required appointment which was for the electrical inspection, we were impressed at the integrity of the house structure including electrical. My husband is a structural engineer and is very critical, but we left that appointment feeling really good about the quality of workmanship. Then right before the close we went for the “reveal” which honestly exceeded our expectations. The tile work was perfection and we had nearly 3,000 sq feet of tile throughout the house. My husband and I care a lot about the details of the construction and the builder didn’t just slap up dry wall like we saw in the homes of other builders. Everything was done beautifully, from the stucco exterior to the installation of the granite countertops. Most importantly for us was ease of the process as it went was very smoothly, and not nerve wracking as our friends predicted. Each and every one of the Raylee team was a pleasure to work with which made for a great experience. We highly recommend this builder.Tomorrow after four days of driving across country we’re moving into our beautiful new home. Living in New Mexico in our Raylee home is a dream come true. Thank you all at Raylee!Jamilla and Bob
We took possession of our new house from RayLee Homes in Dec 2018 (Lomas Encantadas). Largest Heating bill last winter was $65, I love that. For the last 15 months, we have had no issues with the craftsmanship and minimal issues with hardware (faucets, tankless water heater, etc.). Any issue that did come up that was covered by the first-year warranty was taken care of by RayLee Homes with no problems. Normal new house maintenance which includes cracks in tile grout, cracks in caulking around windows, and sometimes cracks in drywall to name a few is caused by the settling and the expansion or shrinking of a new home and is to be expected especially in the dry climate of New Mexico. All though there was a lack of communication at times and a few bumps in the road, RayLee did provide a great finished product. Any issue we had was taken care of, sometimes not as prompt as you may expect but it was done, and it was done correctly. As a buyer designing your home is not an easy task there are many options including floors, cabinets, window color, doors, ext. Be thorough about everything, every design center appointment, to the final walkthrough, just make sure what you want is on the design papers and you will have no problems. If you need more time for the design center portion of your build, I would definitely ask for that time. This is probably the most important part of the process for you as a buyer. As always get everything in writing and do not sign the design papers until you are sure that everything you want to be done in your new home is correct on those papers (fine tooth comb). I would recommend RayLee Homes if you are in the market. The owners and staff are good people. Thank You RayLee this is the best house I have had and it's holding up great.
