Quality Homes of Rochester repaired my deck. The deck was sinking and needed the concrete piers replaced. Working with Quality Homes was great from start to finish. The work was completed quickly and thoroughly. The workers were courteous, professional and clean. I would definately recommend Quality Homes to family and friends.
Great product..the job was professionally with contractor showing us each step.It looks awesome. So glad I called.
Quality Homes did a great job with our remodel. Paul was our point person and he was incredible with communication as well as working towards reaching our goals. Highly recommend their work. Their entire team was friendly and prompt. They even kept our dog company while on the job!!!
I’ve thought long and hard about writing this review. I want to be fair and transparent: in the end, Quality Homes of Rochester did make things right, and the final work met the standard I expected. We have a beautiful deck that I can't wait to show off next summer. However, it took a great deal of persistence and frustration to get there. I’m sharing this as a cautionary tale — not to dissuade others from hiring them, but to encourage vigilance. Read your contract thoroughly, inspect the work closely, and stay actively involved throughout the process. Here’s what went wrong during our project — all of which was within Quality Homes’ control:1. Timeline MismanagementWe were told the project would take two weeks. It ended up taking over four months. The official start date was June 30th, and the lockbox wasn’t removed until October 23rd. I strongly recommend including a clause in your contract that requires compensation if delays exceed a certain threshold (e.g., 4x the original timeline) due to issues within the company’s control.2. Incorrect Materials and Lack of Problem-SolvingThey ordered the wrong materials for our gate, realized they couldn’t execute the original plan, and then tried to convince us to compromise on what was clearly outlined in the contract — rather than taking responsibility and finding a solution.3. Missed AppointmentsOn multiple occasions, they failed to show up for scheduled meetings. We rearranged our schedules, took time off work, and even paid for dog daycare — only to be left waiting with no notice or follow-up.4. Contract Oversight and Surprise ChargesThe cost of a concrete slab was omitted from our contract, even though it was clearly included in the technical drawings. While we were on vacation, they called and told us we needed to pay for it, claiming they hadn’t realized it was necessary due to the slope of our yard. We eventually got our money back, but it was a stressful and avoidable situation. My advice: never pay for anything outside the signed contract, and scrutinize every detail before agreeing to changes.5. Poor Cleanup and Attention to DetailThey did not clean up after themselves unless explicitly asked. We were left with drywall dust throughout the house, and they had to be told to cover a hole they left after moving an air vent.6. Poor ExecutionQH tried to pass off lazy and sloppy work the first time through. Deck railings that shook with little effort, the drink rail on top that lifted easily, the joints to to cornes not aligning. They had installed a sliding door for us, and never installed the latch on the sliding screen door, it was literally taped to the side of it. The execution was so poor we eventually complained enough our project manager was fired towards the end of our project and replaced with someone new.In summary, while the end result is beautiful, the journey was far more difficult than it needed to be. If you choose to work with Quality Homes, stay proactive, document everything, and don’t hesitate to advocate for yourself. It’s the only way to ensure your project stays on track and your expectations are met.I'm fairly certain we will never hire QH again, but Dan Leone is a saint at that company and helped us so many times when so many other things kept going wrong.
We are so glad we chose QH for a second floor addition earlier this year! In the beginning we worked with Jake who did a great job helping us design the second floor space and providing a clear, detailed quote. Paige helped us with lots of selections for the interior (floors, cabinets, etc.) and couldn't have been more patient. During the project, we worked with Joe who kept everything on track and was very responsive anytime we had questions or concerns. Truthfully, everyone who worked on this project was top notch from the very beginning, and I had the sense everyone was invested in the project and the wellbeing of our home/family - special shout out to the framers who worked SO hard to get a roof back on our house ASAP.We get compliments all the time from our neighbors, not only on the outcome of the addition and how seemless it looks, but also on how quickly it all came together. This was a game changer for our family. Strongly recommend QH and would use them again in the future!
