Reviews mention mixed experiences. Positive comments note homes described as sturdy and an overall seamless process with responsive answers to questions. Critical feedback cites concerns about craftsmanship issues, communication challenges, and follow-up on punch-list or warranty items. Prospective clients may wish to clarify quality controls and post-close processes in advance.
Buyer beware!!!I saw the negative reviews for New Leaf Homes and thought I should still give them the benefit of the doubt. Don't make my mistake. Walk away.As another reviewer said, it is "their way or no way" - there is no compromising, no discussing, no negotiating. We ended up backing out due many red flags popping up - the biggest being their inspection policy. They only require approval from the city inspector. If you hire your own inspector, their contract states they are not obligated to fix anything that might be found.Shortly after we backed out, my husband mentioned our experience to some coworkers. One of his coworkers spoke up and said they had bought from New Leaf and the whole thing was a "nightmare". They said getting warranty repairs done was next to impossible, and after the contract signed they were basically ghosted. We are so relieved we walked away when we did.
New Leaf Homes built us a sturdy, quality home. Our experience with New Leaf was seamless from start to finish. Any questions or concerns we had were addressed promptly. Andrew and all the subcontractors were friendly and efficient.
We have been in our home 8 years now. Every electrician, plumber and flooring expert that has come in since comments on the poor craftsmanship of our home. We’ve had a lot of work done. AND they just keep cranking out expensive homes around us. Buyer beware, you’ll be putting more into the home than you think.
Nail pops all throughout the house, obviously it's a new house and this will happen after seasons pass. But the entire house?? Used all nails no screws it seems. Very cheap. Terrible communication from receptionist. They do not ensure to take care of the home buyer's warranty fully. They will just ignore you if the contractor misses a marked job in the house and tell you that the job was alreadyarked as finished.. Also some of my siding fell off and did not communicate when contractor will show up to fix issues.
We have had a pretty poor experience with New Leaf Homes so far. We have been in our house for about 4.5 months. The ridge cap on our house was exposed. Took them about a month to come out and fix it with numerous rain events while exposed. With any rain event water will come into the garage. They replaced the garage door seal once and didn’t change a thing. The garage floor also has a large low spot right in front of the door where water will seep in and sit. They had told us this is not under warranty. Which I find very shocking. Also, the deck stairs are free floating and are not supported at all. Every time you step onto it the whole step flexes. The flooring in the house is separating in multiple places. We have had them come out once to fix it and didn’t complete the job. Waiting to hear back to see when they will be out again. They also leave the green treated board under the front door exposed. They do not paint it, put siding or any sort of trim over it. They also pour the concrete stoop over the siding instead of using J-Channel and pouring stoop right up against the foundation. There has been many issues and they are not quick to resolve them. They are more worried about getting up as many houses as they can instead of doing a good job. Quantity over quality. I highly advise you to look for another builder.
