Recent reviews mention mixed experiences. Common themes include concerns about post-closing communication and warranty responsiveness, along with isolated notes about HVAC and plumbing-related issues in certain homes. Some buyers highlight positive experiences with sales representatives, while others report delays getting service updates. Overall ratings reflect variability across different communities and build cycles.
I purchased a nearly new Maronda-built home and the sewer system has backed up/clogged 3–4 times. A licensed contractor later documented a serious negative pitch/back-pitch condition that requires permanent correction. What concerns me most is the warranty process and communication. The plumber/vendor recommended by the builder (listed on the water heater sticker) did not identify or explain the root cause of the repeated backups, and only suggested temporary explanations (such as a “full septic tank”). After we had the septic pumped, the issue continued. When I requested the camera video/diagnostic notes from the builder’s recommended plumber, I was told the documentation existed but was not provided to me. The builder also denied the claim and would not share the supporting evidence they referenced.Overall, it felt like the process was designed to delay and avoid accountability instead of finding and fixing the real problem. If you buy from this builder, document everything in writing and consider getting an independent sewer camera inspection early.
They’re trying to build on one of Florida most scared piece of wildlife. We need Paynes Prairie for our ecosystem. It’s a piece of Florida that everyone loves. We do not need more development on land that homes native Florida species. Protect Paynes Prairie.
About my second house with maronda homes. My first house was great but this house has been a nightmare. So many things that I requested to get fixed and where never done. After reporting a couple things back in December is now mid-February and still have not been able to get in contact with the customer care person. I've been calling for over a week and leaving emails and still no answer. I have recently made contact with the better Business bureau.
I bought my second home from Maronda Homes, and the second house was horrible and more expensive (first house, 5 stars). There were a lot of issues with the second house; the warranty department never fixed the issues. The only thing they fixed was the A/C (which gave us trouble for a year plus I had to pay out of my pocket to get it fixed), and this is because they hired a third party for warranty issues. My sales rep was excellent and I wish I could give her 5 stars.
We had our Maronda home built in 2017. But we have since experienced our Trane HVAC developing a leak and failing due to a manufacturer defect after only 6 years. We know it is out of warranty (if you buy a Maronda Home look over the warranty information very carefully, with an attorney) we believe that we are owed a duty of care because of a defective HVAC unit that we also discovered was undersized for our home. It will cost somewhere around $7,000 to fix. So, be very aware that at the end of any implied builder warranty or for any mechanical items you will not be covered. At all and they will not care one bit about you, the homeowner.
