As a local Realtor, longtime local resident, Clemens HS Grad and proud Veteran, I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing this community come to life and it’s easy to see why this neighborhood is one of the most sought-after in the area. The homes here are beautiful! Built between 2017 and 2025—with square footage ranging from around 1,600 to floorplans nearly 3,900 sq ft. You’ll find floor plans that work for everyone, from first-time buyers to those needing more space for growing. Many homes also sit on spacious lots (some up to a third of an acre!) which is hard to come by in newer communities. What really stands out, though, are the community amenities. From the resort-style pool, playgrounds, fitness center and miles of trails, to basketball, tennis, and even a fishing pier, there’s something for everyone. Whether you're looking to relax, get active, or connect with neighbors, Homestead delivers. There’s also a wide variety of trusted builders including Perry Homes, CastleRock, Coventry, Highland, Chesmar, and more, giving buyers the flexibility to find a style and layout that fits their needs. If you’re considering moving to Schertz or Cibolo—especially if you’re military or relocating due to PCS orders—Homestead is absolutely worth exploring.??????? ** Quick Reminder! The sales reps at these communities are all very nice, but they work for the BUILDER, NOT YOU! As your Realtor I have a contractual obligation to do what is in your best interest to help you get what you want.So if you're not sure where to start, I’d love to help. I grew up here, I live here, and I serve my clients with the same heart I brought to my military service. Whether it’s Homestead or one of the many other great neighborhoods nearby, let’s build a plan that gets you where you want to go.?? Ready to chat about your options? Let’s schedule your Homebuyer Gameplan call—it’s free, no obligation, and you'll leave it feeling confident about the *big* decisions you will be making along your home buying journey.
????WARNING ????We bought our first home in July 2023, and by March 2024, I began to notice cracks in the tile. This issue extended to the garage walls and floor as well, prompting me to immediately report it to the builder Phillip Flores and his supervisor, Ben Gonzalez. Unfortunately, I feel that they have been downplaying the seriousness of the situation. Now, in mid-February 2025, I am observing cracks along multiple walls, which continue to worsen. I can even hear the sounds of my house shifting/cracking. Although they have tried to fill the cracks with Concrete Patch ?? I feel like my house is going to collapse as the cracks persist. We previously dealt with mold throughout the entire upstairs, which has since been addressed. However, with all the cracks present, I am concerned about the possibility of mold returning. I will share pictures and videos to illustrate the current severity of my home. If anyone has advice on how to expedite this process, I would greatly appreciate it. I have two toddlers and a 10-year-old, and our home is in complete disarray.Additionally, be cautious of the HOA! They promoted the presence of an elementary school in the community when we purchased our home, yet now it has been confirmed that there will be no school. Meanwhile, the HOA fees amount to over $300 each quarter.Couldn’t post videos but I have plenty to share.6292 Black Butte 78108
We love it here. The rec center has a nice pool, lawn, playground, and bbq pavillion. There are frequent movie nights, food trucks, activities (like yoga with goats - lol), community garage sales, and morning giveaways (like coffee with donuts). Since we moved in there has been tremendous expansion to the community; nice homes going up all over the place, new roads, parks, and trails. Future plans for the site include a dog park, an elementary school, direct freeway access from southbound I-35 via the Schwab Rd exit, extension of the Homestead Parkway road so you can access Green Valley Road and avoid the freeway, and development of multiple commercially zoned lots (hopefully we get our own local grocery store). Speaking of groceries, there is an HEB Plus 10 minutes down the road, and a Costco 15 minutes away. Multiple shopping centers are easily accessible to include Lowes, Walmart, Target, open air strip malls, and more. New Braunfels is only minutes away and has multiple major events throughout the year as well as several beautiful parks and a REALLY awesome dog park (Puppy Playland off the Rueckle Rd exit). You can go tubing on the Guadalupe River, attend Octoberfest, enjoy the seasonal decorations put up by home owners in the Homestead community, or explore the Natural Bridge Caverns cave system and recreation park. There is a Six Flags in easy driving range, along with the Pearl fine dining district in San Antonio, not to mention the River Walk and all of its attractions. We have several large movie theaters/arcades nearby with reclining lounge chair seating. We are also only minutes away from an Amazon distribution center, so next day deliveries are the norm and same day deliveries are not uncommon. All-in-all this is a great place to live.
I recently had the opportunity to visit with lifestyle director Alex and tour Homestead Commons. What an amazing amenity center/area. The community has so much to offer it’s residents from a pool to fitness center to amazing activities that really create a lifestyle. Alex was knowledgeable, friendly, and truly passionate about the community. This neighborhood is family friendly ??
I've been in the neighborhood now for almost 2 years. I've enjoyed my time here. The lifestyle director puts together great family friendly events. Neighborhood movies both in the neighborhood and in local theaters, arts and crafts, food trucks, bingo and trivia nights, the list goes on. Now we have the amenities center with a gym and personal trainer, a pavilion with grills, a playground, splash pad and a pool that is open year-round from sun up to sun down. Now that the neighborhood is settling down, things are going well. The community manager does multiple drive-arounds per week and he takes notes as to things that need to be addressed. He is very personable and attentive. Homes are still being built, so it's a bit difficult to keep on top of all the construction dirt that goes with a construction area. Both the community manager and the lifestyle director show that they care for our community and I feel like it is in good hands. The neighborhood itself is 5 stars.
