Finding the right home for downsizing can be challenging. Especially when you have discerning tastes. We’ve built a number of homes during our years & have typically worked with top end builders. This time was no less challenging. We had a target size, a target location & a definitive style. But, while we always prefer new construction, we really didn’t want to wait the typical 8 months for design, permits & construction. This is where Robert Vieville saved our day.We looked at a handful of preowned homes but none were just right. Having been through the home building process multiple times before I interviewed Robert & his near-peer competitors. While I found reasons to like each of them, Robert won us over. How? A number of things but quality, style, innovativeness, foresight & flexibility were key.An inspection of the HRD show home plus a few others under construction readily showed their quality & their selection of layouts, finishes & artistic touches. A key check mark for usDiscussions with Robert identified just how ahead of the curve HRD is when it came to energy efficiency innovations. Something his competitors appear unwilling or unable to do. We owned a R2000 house in the past but HRD is far beyond that.Perhaps our timing was fortuitous but we clearly benefited from Robert’s foresight regarding the ongoing wave of downsizing that’s occurring in the market & his willingness to pre-invest in relevant houses for quick possession. This meant he had a house just being completed that met 95% of our needs. We were able to purchase a new house without waiting 8 months & only needed a small handful of refinements to meet our needs.Robert also demonstrated the flexibility we needed to pull this all together. Finding a new house ready-to-go meant we had to make the purchase before selling our existing acreage. Timing coordination was critical. We had to arrange a couple of bridging instruments & agree with HRD on a definitive but flexible closing date & mechanism. Robert was more than willing to work with us to make this happen.A last, but important aspect, of a new house purchase is post-close service. No new house is 100% perfect. I’ve dealt with builders in the past who faded away after close and didn’t fix their problems. Not so with HRD. We’ve been in the house now for 2 months & what little wrinkles we’ve identified have been addressed in timely manners. That’s as close to perfection that I’ve ever seen.We can’t complement Robert & the HRD team enough. We recommend them unreservedly to anyone looking for a quality, stylish home by a solid, trustworthy builder.
My wife and I built a custom acreage home with HRD last year. We have been very happy with our new home and the level of service provided by the HRD team. Rob and Lindsay were very open and honest with the building process and the cost to build, which gave us confidence to partner with HRD on this new construction. Our site manager Matt was exceptional and very accessible and accommodating. We would like to thank the entire HRD team for guiding us smoothly through the building process, keeping us on budget and helping us build our acreage home the way we envisioned. Thank you again HRD team!!!
HRD was incredible to work with from start to finish and made the process of building our dream home enjoyable and stress-free. In addition, we thought it was pretty great to meet with the company's actual owners when designing our floor plan and making selections. The entire team at HRD made us feel very comfortable, involved, and well attended to throughout the whole home-building experience. We met with several builders and decided on HRD because we were drawn to their personal yet professional way of business. Plus, they build beautiful, unique homes; no big box builders or cookie-cutter homes here! After living in our beautiful home for a few months, it is clear to our family that HRD takes pride in the quality of their craft.Thank you again for a lovely home. The Douglas Family.
HRD built our new custom home in Stony Plain, and from day 1, Rob, Lindsay and HRD team where so easy to deal with. HRD makes the home building process very comfortable. Starting with the design of the home, no pressure or commitment was forced upon us at all to commit in anyway before we where entirely comfortable with our decisions. Once a design and commitment was made on our part, the project execution was very quick and delivered final build ahead of schedule. Any hickups along the way where dealt with immediately and HRD made us feel like we where the #1 client! We would highly recommend HRD as a home builder to anyone!
After our initial searches for a custom home builder where we had dealt with 2 frustrating companies who could not provide proper estimates and were not willing to work with us as a custom home builder, we ended up walking into HRD's show home and absolutely loved their show home. The meticulous designs, choices of colors and finishes and the way they welcomed us, we knew this was going to be the builder for us.Through the process Rob and Lindsay worked with us very closely, they were there to answer any questions we had and supported us 100% through the build. Rob offered excellent suggestions that only improved upon the build of our home, and I could not have imagined building our acreage with any other builder after the positive experience we had.Not only did they have a reasonable build time for the home, from the first dig to our move in date was only 6 months!! They finished the build 2.5 months early and at our move in date, there were no imperfections or outstanding items that we had to follow up on.We have been in our home for almost 2 years now, and have not had any maintenance items come up, the design and attention to detail in the build process was fantastic. The build quality is absolutely outstanding, job well done HRD.We are looking forward to developing our basement with HRD in the next year. Rob and Lindsay and the HRD team are excellent, and you would not regret building your home with HRD.
